How good is Hostel? Im looking for a good movie to get a few teenagers scared before we go out at night?

The first part of the movie has a lot of sex in it. I don't know if I would show that to teenagers. The second part is pretty gorey, I don't know if I would call it scary.

Is it just random people that are doing the killing or some weirdo looking freaks?
these teenagers are pretty easy

Yeah, the first half is pretty loaded with sex, definitely not kid safe.
As far as it being more scary than gory, it's probably not well suited for what you need. It has some of the most graphic gore I've ever seen in a movie, but there aren't any mutant freaks or anything scary like that.

The Ring is pretty good. Make them watch that, then call on the phone.

i scared some girls by switching the input selector on the tv and making it go to fuzz during the movie... also had a friend call... it was great

Haha. I was watching that movie for the first time ever when I was at my uncle's house in Dallas. We watched it really late, and then my phone rang toward the end of the movie (at about 3 AM). It turned out to be my mom saying that my sister went into labor and that I'd be an uncle in a few hours, but it still freaked me out.

Get the Highlights of the Fran years at TAMU, that'll scare the hell outta anyone, that or they'll be laughing their asses off.
That Rob Zombie movie, which I can't remember the name of is pretty gruesome.
I remember the when Friday the 13th came out when I was in high school, that scared the crap out of me, now I just laugh at it. Same with the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Actually the original is pretty damned scary still.

Spoiler Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not mutuant freaks. The college kids in the movie are being kidnapped from a hostel and sold to rich people who torture them to death and this freaky old warehouse.

The Devil's Rejects? or House of 1000 Corpses. I thought 1000 was better...
but warning...pretty vulgar (language). not sure what you allow...but I prob wouldn't let my (future) teenagers watch it.
probably stick w/ the ring or the grudge...Saw (1, 2, or 3) is pretty good too.
I think the Ring & the Grudge both have sequels out too...

Not at all scary. In fact, it has a lot of humor in it (intentional and unintentional).

The Descent is a very good horror movie that would scare those teens. I was surprized how good it was. It's were a group of girls go Cave diving only to find out their not alone.:gig:
