rumor on texags that tkc or kfc whatever you want to call him, is in town talking to the players. Interesting timing. Probably not true but wanted to see if someone was in the know. Threads getting deleted fast on other site.

Players were quoted over the weekend saying that they thought BCG would be back to talk to them right after Easter b/c that is the kind of guy that he is/was.

Is he gonna hook them up with some $$$$$... seeing how they got him that new job....

If he is there, I guess you have to give the guy credit for showing his face in B/CS, the lynch mob might come. I think the "inference" (sp?) on those threads was that maybe he was trying to poach players prior to the new hire. Who knows what to believe in this mess.

isn't the orginal post bout the possible new coach- where did yall get that "tkc or kfc whatever you want to call him" meant BCG???

Sorry Curly my post is a bit sketch since I was in a hurry. Let me see if can clarify. The tkc (the kentucky coach) or kfc (kentucky fried clyde) are just acronyms people are using all over the place, to me his just the former coach, I don't hate him or am mad at him, really just indifferent, it is done, lets move on.
Now to the post on TexAgs, some poster was posting that BCG was in town, I think the post said talking to players in the locker room, and it was mentioned that maybe he was trying to convince some to follow him. The threads disappered rapidly, so I was just curious if this was true or not.

players following him would have to sit out a year

That wouldn't make much sense. Follow me to uk and loose a year of playing time? I don't think that would fly much.

what exactly is loosing a year?
Curly06

Gotcha didnt see how those 2 related- it would make sense for BG to return- all his stuffs here :)
and some local recruits)
what exactly is loosing a year?
If any of the current players for A&M follow bcg to uk then they have to sit out a year before they can play again according to NCAA rules. Why would they want to loose a year of playing time? Unless we are talking about stealing recruits that haven't signed yet.

the guys have til may to decide- and more than likely they wouldnt be sitting out a year

The thread I was mentioning is not this one, but I think the rumor is related. Here is the post
How often do current players transfer to follow their old coach?
Rumors now that our former coach is trying to get Davis and Sloan to go JC and then to Kentucky.
Hard for me to believe that Sloan would leave since he would be the starting PG for the next 3 years and no guarantees that he would be the same at Kentucky in 2 years to only play 2 years but our former coach will be laying the sales pitch heavy if this is indeed the case.
I am assuming Kirk, Jones and Carter will have something to say to them to make them stay.
Who knows, all kinds of wild stuff, starting with this, then Lopez's blog on the chronicle sort of implying bb had a hand in the mess. Bring on the new coach and lets play some ball.

they can be released- which isnt uncommon- dont ask me why we would release them, but they could be released
at first it was a def not leaving- now its a lets think this through, see who the new coach is etc... its a BIG decision, not alota time to make it
Curly06

FYI: bryan davis has family ties to A&M- he will be less likely to leave

I'm quoting myself, but this was a joke. You said loosing, when it's losing. Didn't want it to fly over your head.

Look at Quinn and Bomar at OU. They were dismissed from the team. Their choices were go to a different division other than D1 and play immediately or transfer to another D1 school and sit out a year. Those are the rules.

The NCAA would have to approve the transfer for them to not have to sit out a year. It was done after the Dennehy murder at Baylor but it doesn't happen to often.

recruits who have already signed with us can be released by A&M- its not transfering and they dont have to sit out a year- and its not hard to get

Yes it is very very uncommon for a player to be able to transfer without sitting out a year. It is also very uncommon for players to follow their coach from one D1 school to another. I seriously doubt anyone is going anywhere.
The recruits for next year are a different story.

we better not. coaches are one thing, recruits are still another, and the guys who have played on our court are now Aggies. I'd say no if I were the AD

Yes, we can release an incoming recruit from him LOI and he doesn't have to sit out a year. Any current player already on campus does have to sit out a year if they choose to transfer to another D1 program.
If we chose not to release an incoming freshman from his LOI and he left anyway, then he does have to sit out a year as well.

it helps that most of our guys are local and their families have a desire to see them play most every game- it would get beyond crazy expenive to travel that much
