I would say the state of our program is outstanding. We have moved up from being a program that is a stepping stone to being an assistant at Missouri, to a program that is a stepping stone to one of the premier coaching jobs in the county. Not too bad if you ask me.

Going forward, I really hope you're right. My earlier post is simply questioning if there's another motive for BCG's departure. If there's smoke, could there be fire? There seems to be some eerie similarities between BCG leaving A&M for UK and Fran leaving Alabama for A&M. :spy:
Or, did BCG realize that our athletic program would always be focused on 1 major sport? 12th Man towels at hoops tourney appearances help support this notion. :spy:
FWIW, I was looking forward to A&M eventually being known as a 2 sport school. This really sucks!

I don't see how the 12th Man hurts the basketball team. Yes it was started because of football but it shows our willingness to stand behind the team and be ready.
Secondly, I think A&M can still be known as a two sport school. BB just needs to make a good basketball hire.

We lost a great basketball coach to one of if not the most storied programs out there. The coach we lost took us to the NCAA tournamant for two consecutive years for the first time EVER. We caught an up and coming coach that did wonders for our program. He didn't leave for any other reason than the best program in the nation came calling. It really is that simple.
For everybody that claims he lied etc. I really don't feel that way. If there were no questions about him staying he would have signed the contract immidiately. He didn't and that was a clear signal to most of us that he was expecting a call/looking elsewhere for a job.
Big F'n deal.
All coaches at the D1 level are egomaniacs. They wouldn't be a successful coach at that level otherwise. They are always looking for the next big thing, if they don't feel they are at the top spot in their field. BG was no different. HIS opinion of A&M was that it has potential but UK is a better job.
We can now go out to get a coach from a much bigger selection pool than we could before because he has proven that we can win here.
