I said this during the last football season regarding Fran and people jumped all over me on this site.
Coaches are employees of the University Athletic program. They are NOT Aggies. Coaches, like the rest of us, will go to a better job when opportunities come up.
Don't for a minute think a coach wouldn't leave A&M if he had the opportunity [nor should we take it personally].

The part that I take personally is when a "coach at Texas A&M" makes a statment not 7 days ago that he loves A&M and looks forward to winning a national championship and loves the level of committment, tells recruits he is going no where...all lies. Sure almost every coach will always think there a greener pastures somewhere else and all will leave at some point. I am just saying DO NOT LIE, DO NOT MAKE FALSE STATMENTS. He never said anything about coaching jobs and rumors but he can come out and make a bold face lying statements. Plus he mentioned that he is always honest with his players...B.S. Where is the honesty when he tells a recruit he is not going anywhere and 5 days later he splits. He is doing this to 18 yr old kids.
Man up - be a man - be honest. We all knew he would leave someday but they way he did it and the things he said is what upsets me.

actually he said in his press conference he was out recruiting juniors and sophomores when he got the call and then he signed up with uk. that sounds like less than 5 days before the "bolt"
but, if he wanted a good career move, he got it. i hope he does well.

Coaching is a business just like all of our careers. If I am looking for a new job and my current boss asks me about it, of course you are going to deny it and tell him what he wants to hear. People need to not take this personally. Sure, it sucks he left, but you need to remember that what BCG did is what tons of people do everyday (quit a good job to take a different job that is a huge promotion).

I still don't think that the statement was directly from BG as much as it was from our AD. Something had to be said with all the rumors flying around and at that time, it was technically true. UK was waiting on Donovan and no "official" contact had been made through BB. Therefore, at that time, he was staying. I don't agree with the way it went down, but something had to be said. It should have been clear to all that he hadn't signed the contract and was therefore, on the market for another job.
