Sorry for the off topic, but I found it on the Football forum on another board so I posted it here. Does anyone know what this is all about? Who is Keegan?

http://mb12.scout.com/ftamufrm1.showMessage?topicID=7073.topic

I'm thinking, maybe corporate sponsership is coming, but that is a complete guess.

I haven't heard anything about that yet...but I'm way outside the loop. It looks like there is a corporate sponsor looking to tag Kyle Field if not others.

From what I was able to gather from their teasing posts, Kyle field will still be Kyle Field...but it'll be something like Alltel Kyle Field, or Cingular Kyle Field?
(and no those companies aren't involved as far as I know..i'm just guessing). :undecided

Anybody got a short list of Aggie alums, apparently with very deep pockets?

That would be dumb but I can see it coming.... Clear Channel Kyle Field, maybe?

The Keegan poster is a regular poster on Texags. He is actually a pretty smart guy and I have never seen him post any "dumbass" threads. If he is saying something then it may be trustworthy. Or as trustworthy as anything else you are going to hear on an intenet forum.

There are several rumors flying on the Aggies Only board... I will not confirm nor deny, but there should be news in the near future on at least part of the rumor (i.e. next 2 weeks).

Here's a link to some info:

Interesting....the thread basically says that the UT/A&M game will be moved to Sat night instead of being played Friday morning. If the thread is correct (and we have no way of knowing this), the game will be played on ABC for a national TV audience.

I think that'd be awesome! Night games rock...and the crowd would just be that much more into it after a day of tailgating and anticipation

Vlyrock - the t.u. game news is more than a rumor, but that's not the big news.

Jeez, I hope we don't have Corporate Sponsor Kyle Field. But in today's economic reality, it's understandable.

I'd love for us to build that, but it would require that we sell out more games than we have in the recent past.

There's definitely some great news to come, though it will come with a slightly bitter pill.

Frankly, the worse of the three big changes Bill Byne is up to right now isn't naming rights/Kyle Field sponsorship or moving t+1 to t+2 (night game I like that one!) it is moving the A&M/TT game to a neutral site. Dumb Dumb Dumb, please Bill, don't do that!!

Where could they possibly move it to?

To tell you the truth Bill and the Athletic department want that indoor practice facility more than anything. Way more than stadium expansions (especially right now). They have drawings done of it already, 2 side by side practice fields, tall enough to punt in(!), a track with seating for 5,000 to host NCAA national track meets and two big doors that can open up to the existing outdoor practice fields to the south. This is Bill's baby. It would be the jewel in the crown. Any money he gets from a corporate sponsorship or big $$ donors would go to build it, not stadium expansions.

moving the A&M/TT game to a neutral site.

There's strength in numbers. When you have a big crowd from both sides fighting with goalposts is less likely.

I don't like this idea, because it creates the illusion of Tech being our rival, it also cheapens our real rivalry. But, I do see why he would consider it.

Because the city of Dallas will give him $$$ to do it. If Dallas can pay the athletic department more than they could make having it at home every other year then Dollar Bill$ will do it. He doesn't care if he pisses us off our cheapens us by making Tech seem worthy of A&M. All he wants is money.
