What about the okie state guy that left for Minnesota? I heard he was one of the top recruiters in the country.

Jimmy Williams was probably our best recruiter other than the head coach. Rumor has him going to Minnesota with Tubby.
Why does it seem like Tubby is a rogue wave who's ripple effect is hitting all of college basketball right now?

the astros fired jimmy williams , maybe they didn't know he was a basketball coach ?

couple of distinct differences:
1. the astros ex-skip spelled his name jimy.
2. he was an old white guy.

you're right . never hire a guy that can't even spell his own name right.

Lon Krueger or Mark Few....that would be my guess for possible replacements.
I don't know any names but I would like to see a coach from a good program who is looking to move and that has a history of tournament apperances. I think an older guy would be good. One that has already made his mark and won't be looking for the grass is greener scenario.

maybe it's just my lack of basketball savvy...but none of those really excite me...(edit: Maybe Reggie Theus, but he's pretty doubtful)...:bored:

I like Gregg Marshall and Ronnie Arrow

I like Arrow too... only thing is he runs a Phx Suns type of offense where there is less of a focus on Defense..... Would be interesting to see if he changes his method or if he has the players switch up if A&M picked him up from A&M-CC.

He slowed it down against Ohio State. But we have the athletes to run any offense.

My mistake, I was looking at one reply too high in the thread. :headslap:
I have been trying to find the definition of rue dor.
Red Door maybe?
Every time I see a reference to a colored door, I think of the classic movie that the Chambers gal starred in and that was titled after the short story about a green door. :D

All I know is I got this annoying voice mail on my cell right now about the whole issue from a sip I know....
Basically saying - Good Ol A&M... back to being tu's doormat in B-Ball....
I am too pissed to say something right now... but once I get off work... dude better not be around me....

My sip boss should be here soon... I think I am just going to shut the door to my office today and ignore everyone.
I hope we get a coach who wants to put down roots in CS.... no more of this doormat feeling.

Mark Few should be on everybody's dream list, but really, I don't ever see him leaving Gonzaga. He's turned down interviews for just about everybody.
Why not look at John Lucas? He's a Houston guy, perhaps would be the best recruiter in the country, has ties to everything and has NBA head coaching experience.

I'm not entirely sold on Lon Kruger (just something about him).....plus he won't leave UNLV....out of those names I like Gregg Marshall...though interestingly enough Doc Sandler is a Gillispie product right???
