Twin college basketball players were visiting College Station to celebrate their 22nd birthday and were both stabbed outside of V-Bar. One did not make it :(

FROM CSPD...

On 4/4/07, at approximately 01:45 A.M., Officers from the College Station Police Department responded to the 100 block of College Main in reference to a possible gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers located two stabbing victims in the 100 block of Lodge St. The victims, who are twin brothers, were transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital by College Station Fire Dept. personnel. One of the victims was later pronounced dead. The other victim is undergoing treatment for multiple stab wounds. The deceased person has been identified as:

Jonathan Bailey
W/M
22 years of age

The surviving victim has been identified as 22 year old, Janson Bailey. The preliminary investigation reveals that the victims had been involved in an altercation with some other subjects inside the V-Bar located at 110 College Main. All of the persons were asked to leave the bar, however a fight between the subjects soon broke out in front of the bar. The fight between the victims and several other subjects continued east-bound down Patricia Street, eventually ending up in the 100 block of Lodge St. where both victims were stabbed. The suspects then fled on foot east-bound towards Nagle Street.

College Station Police detectives responded to the scene and continued the investigation. Information collected at the scene led detectives to the location of the possible suspects. At approximately 10:45 A.M. two suspects were located and are presently speaking with detectives. Police are looking for no other suspects at this time.
The case remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.

That really sucks. I never liked the bars that were in the location of Vbar no matter what it was called. It was always too small for the number of people in there with not enought room to move around.

I hope this leads College Station to increase the uniformed police presence in NG.

The police claim that outside alcohol was too much for them to take care of so everyone has to drink inside. Now the cops just forget about the area and don't patrol? I hate CSPD

Vbar is next to where hollicks used to be. I think at one time it was a Quiznos

the quiznos and hollicks were accross the street from eachother

TexAgFromCal
04-05-2007, 01:21 PM
No, quiznos was on the corner of patricia street and college main. Hollicks was closer to campus on the same side of the street. They were both on the same side of the street.

yeah quiznos was on the same side as hollicks (where V-bar and that other bar are now)

ok, well that's where I'm wrong then, I thought Holliks was across the street, near the Hookah Bar

The hooka bar is also on the same side of the street.

If you are heading down the street away from campus it was all on the right side of the street.

There are always fights at V-Bar, Gatsby's and The Groove. Like every night. I guess this shouldn't come as too much of a suprise. Still very sad though.

But i dont know what you guys are talking about. There is a huge police presence on NG. Probably just not last night because if was a Wednesday. There should have been cops there, though because there is no school on Friday and it was basically a Thursday night.

But when you are there on the weekend you practically cant turn around on the street without bumping into a cop.

Superaggie79

I rarely see cops at NG

AustinAG07
04-05-2007, 02:18 PM
Really? When I was walking up to Northgate last weekend I saw a cop jump out of the bushes in front of a the catholic church and nab a guy trying to drink and drive. There are always about 4 or 5 sitting on bikes on college main and a few walking around the front of the bars. Not to mention the patrol cars that just drive around the area behind University.

AustinAG07
04-05-2007, 02:19 PM
Maybe I get it in my head that there are more becase I am usually drunk and scared of getting a PI :headslap:

Superaggie79
04-05-2007, 02:19 PM
If I see them they're on a bike behind the chicken or dry bean waiting for someone to trip on the stairs.

AustinAG07
04-05-2007, 02:23 PM
Haha yeah that is true. I guess it also depends on where you are in northgate. They are usually most frequently around Logans and the Groove and places like that. Sometimes down by the Corner. If you go west towards the Chicken, Midnight Rodeo and O'bannons there are hardly any.

My favorite bar is O'Bannons and I rarely see them there. I guess you are right.

theres always 4 or 5 round where we are- normally 2 outside the library and then all 4 or 5 are out in the street they block off when we all go out there at 2---

thats crazy but dont think it woulda happend on a normal night that everybody goes out

Wow I don't know what to say about that. If they are Marines then that Fuller guy should of been able to fight the twins off instead on getting his head stomped on but other Marines are going to take up for each other, that is taught and instilled in you from day one in the Corps. I just can't believe he used a knife. Marines are taught to cause harm with your hands first, then use other actions but to me it almost sounds like seld defense and the twin started the whole thing. Marines are a band of brothers so even if it's somebody you don't know your are trained to help that fellow Leatherneck out.

Dustin00whoop
04-06-2007, 02:54 AM
Yeah, but it sounds like more than just the twins. It sounds like the guy from Rice came up to celebrate his BD with his bro & a group of friends. If that is the case, it wasn't 2 on 1, it was lots on 1 & in that case, even a Marine could get his head kicked in. Either way, that article sure does change a lot. It'll be interesting to see the differences in how The Chronicle reports it compared to The Buzzard!

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4692682.html

that's not that surprising to me... everybody that i talked to today seemed to think that it was a one sided deal where the guy just stabbed the other guy... i was asking the question, "how many fights have you seen where only one party is guilty of anything... "... people don't stab other people for no reason... well not usually

Thisjeffguy07
04-06-2007, 02:58 AM
sounds like the 2 marines were pretty outnumbered... maybe that's the reason he pulled out the knife... maybe he just didn't stand a chance without it

I remember when a group of guys came to my apartment because my exgirlfriend told her new boyfriend that I called her a Cu*t and came over to the back portch at the Chicken and threw a punch and I floored him quickly. I left and went home and shortly after getting ready for bed I hear my door open but it dosn't close, so I come out of my bedroom only to see about 10 dudes standing in my living room, my fault for not locking the door but my roomate was on his way back from the store. 3 rushed me but I was able to fight them off. I was then able to get into my room before 3 other guys with bats could get to me and I grabed my Marine issue 9mm and told them I got 16 rounds here 15 in the mag and 1 in the pipe, some of you guys will get shot more than once. I then got my cell phone and called 911. I could have easly shot and killed somebody but it didn't come to that but it could of real quickly. The cops got there quickly and only took 6 guys to jail and charged them with assualt with a deadly weapon and breaking and entering. Even the CS cops said man I would of had to shot someone.

Sounds that way he should have a good self defense case because it sounds like they were the ones who were attacked and sounds like by a very large group of people.

pretty crazy story... one time i was walking on the beach near Corpus Christi during spring break (which i will never do again)... my little brother was carrying one of those big mag lights that we had borrowed from my dad... all of a sudden some dude ran up behind him and grabbed the flashlight... my brother and I looked at this little dude and started chasing him... after about a 20 second chase i got hit with a beer bottle in the throat from some random person that i was running past... then about 40 of the theft's friends rushed me... we had run right into their trap... my brother didn't get hit cuz he was too far behind me... i took a few hits before the cops got them off of me... i really thought they were gonna beat me to death... i knew that on the previous night some dude got his ear cut off on that same beach...

anyway... if i had my knife on me i would have stabbed a lot of people...

never got the flashlight back... the cops told me to just forget about it and go home... there were so many guys (and random people in the area ) that they had no idea who to arrest

This is why I'm glad I am a highly trained Marine and also why I got my Concealed Handgun permit when I turned 21. You never know you might get in these types of bad places. I have only had to pull a gun twice, once in the story above and the other time someone was trying to break into my Dad's house about 3 years ago. We were staying with my folks because I had just got back from Iraq and my wife and I had been drinking so we stayed there. This is out in the country on our Ranch outside of Burnet. We were sleeping in my old room when I could hear foot steps outside because I had my window open. So I get up to piss and after I piss I look around and everybody is asleep so it couldn't be anybody else. So I start looking around and see 2 shadows outside one of the kitchen windows. I run upstairs and get my pistol and thrown on my shoes. I sneak out the front door and around the house to catch 2 guys dressed like devil worshipers trying to pop the screen off. They see me and start running, I had flip flops on so I couldn't run that well. They made it to the brush but I shot all 15 rounds into the brush line. By then my Dads up and is outside after calling the police becasue I told my wife to wake him when I ran up stairs before I went outside. When we go back to the window there is this huge knife on the ground. The cops were unable to get any prints off of it, so we never found out who it was. Later when the sun came up I tracked there footprints to the fence line so they must of jumped the fence. Also one of my Dad's calves had been killed and they took the heart and make a devil sign in the grass with the blood. We called the cops again and they came back and took pictures and said ya this has been going on all over Burnet County. As far as I know the cops never found who was doing this stuff. I used my gun alot in Iraq and Afgan but that was because I was in a war and had to do what was needed over there.

Only $80,000 bond in a murder case, sounds like the judge thinks the self defense story might have some merit to it. I've been hearing lots of reports in the last few weeks about V-Bar bartenders starting fights and just generally being *******s. V-Bar and Hookah Station are the only bars on NG I've never been in so I don't know personally.

I would think a key part to this case is where Fuller's wallet is
