I like the enthusiams but lets be realistic, if McNeal goes down with an injury then we have ourselves a ballgame.

If this really did come from the Houston Chronicle they really have some editting problems.[/b]

Houston Chronicle
Texas State at Texas A&M - Biggest upset last season was Baylor's shocking win over Texas A&M in Waco...now it's Texas State turn to did it in College Station.

That was my bad typing from the article as I was reading from the newspaper. Sorry!

I'm the guy that keeps all the sports sections around my room until I get around to throwing them away, sometimes a week or two after. Found my Monday, July 11th copy of the Houston Chronicle. I'm not seeing that fluff anywhere. I would think it would be on Page Two, but the letter to the editor is aobut the Astros and there's nothing about A&M on there.

And in the seciton about colleges, it has the deal about Stephenson deciding to go to OU for baseball and talks about Kansas basketball player J.R Giddens, going to New Mexico.

Nice job there, Strict. Must be reading the San Marcos tabloid...

So, since the trade deadline is approaching and the Cats are looking to rise up the ladders in the National League (according to Bobcats NL Insider Strict), what are the trade rumors?

I'd hate to see Clemens in Bobcat gold this coming fall, could it really happen?

Funny how quick this post went downhill fast...

Strict9, please find the article so you can shut the naysayers up. I know you wouldnt post info you didnt see but others would like to see the facts.

I dont need an article to see that A&M is in a two season funk and they got beat by Baylor, who we almost beat. Texas State did pretty good last season, we're primed for a victory if you ask me. and i will be there to witness it personally

Brent, it's not possible. I've got a copy of that day's edition and living in Houston (not even 10 minutes from the 59/610 location), I do get the last edition they send to print, unlike other areas of Texas, where they send earlier versions of the Chronicle.

I'm assuming that this article that was allegedly written was not an AP article and would've been written by a Houston Chronicle writer. Searched the archives to no avail (just like anyone else could) and I have scanned the paper for anything about A&M. Until proven otherwise (especially when told the article was on the same page as the NL page, which if you read the Chronicle, is always strictly NL baseball), I think this is most ridiculous thing I've ever seen posted on this boards.

I'd love for the Cats to knock off A&M. It'd help the name of I-AA and give the SLC some increased national coverage. However, to say that a newspaper made that remark, whether in an article or otherwise, is the biggest load of rubbish that anyone affiliated with your school has every said, from Studer to Doerr to Mataskis...

Wow, poor Bobcat fans. I mean it ok to talk trash and such, but to make up an article, that's pretty sad. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to prove during the season.

I cannot believe that anyone in their right mind would think that SWT would have any chance of beating us next year or any year for that matter.

If you're depending on Reggie getting hurt by Clemson or SMU just to consider yourselves having a chance, then things don't look too good for you. Last year, A&M went toe-to-toe with OU in the 4th qtr without McNeal. Ty Branyon is a very capable back-up whom I have a lot of faith in.

we have two back up qb's that are twice as good as their starter. Why is it so hard for them to relise that they dont stand a chance McNeal or not.

If Reggie McNeal, Courtney Lewis, DeQawn Mobley, Justin Warren, Jaxson Appel, Johnny Jolly, Lee Foliaki, Aldo de la Garza and Martellus Bennett all got injured before the Texas State game(God forbid!), I would say that A&M would still be at least 20 point favorites.

It doesn't matter what Bobcat Fan thinks. He'll still get to see Branyon and McGee in mop up action.

what are they putting in the water in san marcos? i would say an upset that the ags should be ashamed of would be like tamu 35 txst 21.....that would be HUGE for txstate

but my prediction is 63-10 something in that neighborhood

No fran will pull the starters in the 2nd. He'll then play keep away and win 40-14.

They keep bringing up the Baylor game last year. It was a fluke but even then a moot point since Baylor would beat the hell out of SWT. A&M vs. SWT will be a complete and utter ass-kicking.

I can see our starters playing in the third quarter because Fran will want to give them as much game time experience as possible before conference play but I think alot of guys will see playing time in the fourth.

but you cant discount turnovers..... tech got lots of turnovers against nebraska and we had 2nd and third string in. when i watch the video of the game there are guys making tackles and int's that i never heard of. no turnovers tech wins against nebraska 35-10 a zillion turnovers and we won 70-10

the ags are so far more talented that i see many turnover and possibly scores on all three sides of the ball, thus solidifying my prediction of 63-10 lol
