Article by Andy Katz, saying tu may become the team to beat in BigXII hoops, small blurb on the right side of the screen about the Aggies, says we have turned the corner and with the return of Acie, JJ, and new addition Eddie Smith we will be in the mix. I think it is a bit premature to say the sips will be the team to beat, although KU and OSU lost a lot of players, their recruiting classes are always stellar, and tech cupboard isn't exactly bare. We shall see. :)

At least we are now even mentioned about basketball (without it being some kind of joke).

Oklahoma is the Big 12 team to beat. Then OSU, Texas Tech and Kansas(no particular order), then Texas.

ESPN and all the other media think the sippers are the team to beat in every sport. While i must admit, their athletics department seems to be a step ahead of ours in a few sports, we are quickly closing the gap. That being said, let them be the team to beat, b/c they aren't gonna sweep us in basketball anymore. Also i'll reiterate the point that the fact we are even getting mentioned in the same sentence as basketball and "being in them mix" is freakin awesome. I hope the boys from austin enjoyed their time on top, b/c it's about to be over.

How can Texas be the team to beat after their dismal showing last year. It's like turning around and declaring Baylor the team to beat in football. Texas limped into the postseason, and if they didn't pull off the upset of OU in the final game before the Big XII tourney, they'd have gone to the NIT. I know it was due to injuries and people not being on the team...but still, you can't just jump to being the team to beat IMO.

It's July. Basketball won't be on the radar until December.

OSU and Tech were bad. Kansas is hitting their stride right now...very dangerous. OU and Texas are the top 2.

I was just searching the forum for that pic of Acie throwing the Horns Down so I could show Dustin on the other thread how much you guys ordinarily like "cocky ass pricks" and found this.
If there's anyone more blinded by his hate of UT or deeper in the Kool-Aide than Loftin I don't know who it is. That'd be one scary fellow whoever it might be.

Throwing a horns down isn't necessarily being a "cocky ass prick" if it's in the middle of a celebration or after a big shot...if he did it every time he did anything, then yeah, I could see it...but it happens all the time against you guys -- and normal in celebration of defeating you guys...

Good stuff. I've never seen anything like an Aggie explaining away bad sportsmanship while at the same time calling someone a cocky ass prick for. . .what exactly?
Buckman hustles his ass off, works hard, and is a great player for us.
I can never understand why Ags can't just flat out admit they hate some guys because they're Longhorns as opposed to attacking them personally like they've done something wrong.
We had a long thread over on the BOFZ about this. The Horns down stuff is just funny to us now. Proves everything is about us--THE FLAGSHIP. Your players forget their own handsignal, whatever it is, when they play us. That's actually cool for us.
But it doesn't change the fact that it's taunting.
