So I guess you would know more about his trip to UCLA?
Friend of mine says that he's still solid on A&M & that he's an Ag...

He visited UCLA I believe. A huge factor in his recruitment is location. He likes A&M's location. That's what ruins his liking for the other school. I'm not too worried.

Yeah thats the thing. WHen we first talked to McGuffie it was about playing positions other than RB. Actually we talked some but the interest of him running the ball was really low. And he LOVED A&M, but LOVED playing RB more.
Now after the NOC we're right back in it. WHo knows. The way I see it is like this. Give me one of the three and Ill be happy with it. Each are different in their own way. So we would benefit in a different way with who ever we get. But again, none run the ball the same way, they all bring something different to the table

That would suck if it happens. I can understand both sides. However, I think that this season may change his mind, Gloria. Once he sees how we use Lane & Goodson in a two back system, I think that may see that he & McGuffie can coexist. Maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part. :undecided:

This is the only reason I don't like early commits. They're sometimes 16 years old and you can't really rely on what they say. Wich would be nice if Mack's idea about having an early signing day went into affect.

Agreed... I do like Mack's plan for signing kids at different times....

Mack's idea? Lets not give ol' yeller too much credit. I can hear it now, "I'd like to thank Mack for coming up with early signing days in football & Al Gore for inventing the internet." There are tons of coaches who have been wanting an early signing day for football for the last five years.

Name 4. I'm not saying there aren't other coaches that want this, but Mack and only one other have I heard said they wanted this.

I've heard numerous coaches either on sports talk radio or Mike & Mike discussing how they think it would be a great idea. Leach has mentioned it. Guys like Carroll & Meyer have mentioned it. I don't think I have heard Fran comment on it at all. Charlie Weis has even gone on record as saying he would entertain the idea. I'm not saying that Mack hasn't lobbied for it, too, I'm just saying that he isn't the only one out there wanting it.
Personally, I think it would be a great idea to have a signing day in July or early August. Let those kids that have already made up their minds play their senior year of high school ball without all the distractions that come from the recruiting process.
