The Rangers are expected to announce today that Ameriquest Field in Arlington will be renamed to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington after the team reached a deal with the subprime lending company Ameriquest, who was close to being bought out by Citi. I'm so glad it's back to "Ballpark in Arlington" and it's kinda cool that it is Rangers. :D

I think a more appropriate name would have been "Consistent underachievers with no pitching" Ballpark in Arlington.

Why don't we just call it the "Hitters Ballpark in Arlington"?

If you bring Pudge & Juan Gone back you could start calling it "The old washed up former juicers Ballpark in Arlington."

The funny thing is that it seems the stros are going with this same approach this season especially after the rocket goes to the yankees

Roy Oswalt & Jason Jennings are both better than any Ranger pitcher in the last decade.

The Rangers are off to a good start so far this season....their best minor league pitching prospect is already out for the season b/c he needs elbow surgery.

He should've had the surgery 2 years ago. His fastball had been losing it's velocity for awhile and the replacement surgery has proven to be very effective. And Danks seems to be further along than Diamond anyway. Also I was surprised to see that we've allowed the second fewest runs so far this year in the cactus league.

Lets face it the Rangers sucked when I was a kid growing up near Ft. Worth. And they have continued that great tradition of suckiness to this very day.

In my mind the selling of names to ballparks, arenas and stadiums goes against the grain.

Diamond isn't the best minor league pitching prospect the Rangers have. Eric Hurley would be that guy.

Any of you want to make a wager that the Rangers finish with a better record than the Astros?

Danks was traded to the White Sox in the deal for Brandon McCarthy.

The Astros would be in the same position if they didn't play in the National League.

You mean the National League that won the last World Series and where pitchers aren't allowed to be pusses and have to bat for themselves?

The National League is the weaker league. Listen to any baseball show and you will hear the same thing.

Well, then I guess the ESPN baseball writers that were talking about it on Sportscenter over the weekend don't know what they are talking about. Afterall, he was the minor league pitcher of the year in 2005 and only led AA in strikeouts and wins last year.

I strongly disagree with that statement. The American league puts up bigger offensive numbers b/c the pitchers are pussies. MLB needs to get rid of the DH. It is bad for baseball. What if the Eastern division in the NBA moved their 3 point line in two feet, but the Western division's 3 point line staye the same? Maybe the NFC should widen their goal posts by a couple of feet and the AFC should keep their's the same. There is no reason that different divisions should play with different rules.

I agree with getting rid of the DH, but they would never do it.

And about Diamond, Hurley and a 18-year-old pitcher named Fabio Castro are going to be the future of the Rangers rotation. Diamond is good, but who knows if he will come back from TJS and still be that good. Diamond really needs to develop a 3rd pitch because right now he only throws a mid 90's fastball and a pretty good curve. If he could develop a power slider or nasty change he would be on the right track.

Now you are wanting the Rangers to actually develop pitchers. ;)

Exactly. If I had 3 wishes from a magic blue genie one of the 3 would be for the Rangers to demolish the Gold Club (which causes the ball to fly out of the Ballpark) and for the Rangers to actually develop a dominant "ace" of the staff.
