My take on "The Dance"

Instead of having a top 25 throughout the year. Make it a top 32 (32 best teams in the nation) At the end of the regular season, those teams go to "The Dance"

This would push the smaller schools to schedule major conference teams etc.. Making the preseson or non conference games far better. Same for (example) Big 12 teams. We'd play tougher teams (small schools).

Wouldn't happen. It all comes back to money. The NCAA is making over a Billion dollars on the tournament. Why would they change things?

Well as a fan I don't think you would like it either. The top 32 teams are still dominated by major and mid-major schools. Even if small conference teams scheduled big schools they would typically loose. Thus the big schools would stay up in the rankings and the small schools would drop.

thats what I hate about this HUGE Tourny.. far too many small schools Ive never heard of that suck anyways.

Thats the reason I want to see a 32 THE BEST teams going head to head

Seriously. If you just want to see big name schools play in the dance every year then take the top 32 teams in the polls.

Yeah, I don't like watching no name teams like VCU upset well known teams like Duke in the tourney. That's no fun. ;)

If you invited only the top 32 (in a poll), you'd lose the excitement of a tourney. You'd never have a George Mason (#11) run to the Final Four or a #9 Villanova team win it all (9x4 = 36 -- so they'd have been left out)....

I think the format is fine now (except for how the selection committee works -- I think they plan things and claim they don't).

For example, all the coaching matchups (or potential ones).

Xavier vs Ohio State. Michigan State vs Marquette. You know they plan those type of things (teacher/student type games)
