Holy crap! The kid just banked in a 3 as time ran out when they were down by 2. What a way to punch your ticket to the big dance.

The clock operator didn't start the clock on time. Waiting on a verdict on how to handle it.

I'm confused. The clock started late, yet they are putting time back on the clock for Akron.

They clocked at the end jumped from 1.0 to 0.0 They estimated .04 went off in that time it took to clear the basket. They should have had more time because the clock didn't start after the free throw. It seemed more than .6 came off after the freethrow before the clock started. It begs the question was the shot even legal to begin with.

I guess what I'm not understanding is, why would they put more time back on the clock when the problem after the FT was that time didn't start running off the clock sooner like it should have.

How? The shot would've been good regardless. He let it go with 1.2 left.

How do you figure? Because enough time didn't run off after the FT, we're going to put more time back on? The clock error caused there to be MORE time in the game, not less...so why would you add even more time?

There is no way to find out exactly how much time ran off after the FT. The best way would have been to do the FT over again, but that obviously would never have gone over well.
Technically, Miami rushed the court and that should have been a technical foul.
What do you do with that?

Wow! Thats getting pretty ticky tack. The clock had expired when they rushed the floor.

The announcers said it first. Plus, regulation doesn't end until the refs have approved the final shot to make sure the game was actually over.
