Houston, Tx- Going into a double header agains the University of Houston Lady Cougars Texas A&M Softball Coach, Jo Evans, had 698 wins. She left Houston with a double header sweep and 700 wins. It was a big moment for Jo and her parents flew in from Utah to be a part of it.

The Lady Aggies won the first game 3-0 behind the pitching of Amanda Scarborough who pitched a complete game shutout with only 3 hits and 8 strike outs. The first inning was a little shaky as the Lady Cougars were able to get runners to second and third with 2 outs through two errors but Amanda was able to get the final out by forcing them into a ground out. The Aggies scored all 3 of their runs in the sixth inning. Aggie speedster and all time steals leader Sharonda McDonald started things off by getting on base with a bunt, stealing second, and then scoring on an error by the Cougar centerfielder. The scoring continued with Katie Hinshaw and Scarborough both coming through with big RBI's to end the scoring with three runs. Amanda took it from there shuttingdown Houston for the first win.

Megan Gibson took the mound in the second game. In the first inning the two teams traded runs and Houston continued the scoring in the second with two more runs to put the Lady Cougars up 3-1. Joy Davis tied the game up in the fourth by drawing a walk and advancing herself around the bases and eventually scoring on a throwing error. The score stayed the same until the top of the seventh when Macie Morrow hit a 2 out solo home run to put the Aggies up 4-3 going into the bottom of the seventh. After allowing two runners to get on with 1 out in the bottom of the seventh Gibson was able to close out the game by forcing a fly out and a ground out giving the Lady Aggies a 4-3 win. Congrats Coach Evans.
