Kind of surprised that I am the first one to post this. What did you think of the flagrant foul commited on Hansbrough at the end of the UNC/Duke game yesterday? I think it looked a little worse that it really was. However, I think that Henderson should be suspended for a while. One game in the ACC tourney is not enough (IMO). If it were up to me, I'd have him out for the rest of the year.
Here's the video in case anyone missed it....

I heard commentary this morning saying Hansbrough shouldn't have been in. I agree with that -- it doesn't explain the foul or make it okay -- but why's your star in inside the last minute of a rivalry blowout?

I saw the replays right after it happened. It looked to me like he was redirecting his arm and hand when the ball came out because his eyes were following the direction of the ball. I think it was a foul but not flagrant and he should not have been ejected.

I don't know he didnt even extend his arm and he was swinging pretty hard. I don't think that he is a bad kid or anything but it was a dirty call. A one game suspension seems about right to me (especially since the game was almost over and already decided when he got kicked out, making it not really that much of a punishment).

I think a 1 game suspension is right. I don't think it was on purpose, but it really is hard to tell. I can't see suspending him for the rest of the year for a foul that by video, one cannot tell if it was done purposely or not.

If you can't tell, how can you justify any suspension? It was a hard foul in the paint. I would have left it at that.

Heard today that Hansbrough's nose is broken.

I don't think he meant to hit him in the face, but the ejection and suspension were right. The punishment was for creating a dangerous play, just like in soccer. In soccer you can get a red card without even making contact with the other player. This is done by doing something that puts the other playing in danger, like coming into a play cleats first. This seems to be the nature of the BBall call.

it looked to me like the coach told him to do it, he certainly defended the action after the game

Only in soccer can you be on the field of play & get ejected without even touching someone!

Maybe we should learn something from the world's greatest game.

That was uncalled for and inexcusable. Duke has always had a reputation under Coach K as being classy in victory and defeat. This guy was frustrated and let his emotions get the best of him. Even though it would hurt Duke, I wouldn't be against this guy getting a harsher suspension.

everybody keeps saying he elbowed him, but it looks like he catches him with a forearm. I still think the contact was intentional and warrants a suspension -- i don't think the call came from the coach though.
It's obvious the player was being aggressive and frustrated that Hansborough was about to dunk it and put an exclamation point on the play. Again, what's he doing in there up by 12 with 14.6 seconds left?

Tyler H. was pretty smart though...he didn't throw a punch so he won't miss any games...although his nose is broken -- so he may miss a few anyways.
