Ive been working on a new theme customized for mobile phones (namely windows smartphones) because I was not happy with the ones created by vbulletin members (because they were designed for the low rez crappy cell phones)

this theme is designed for smartphones that render atleast 320 pixels wide (which my new motoQ does). Anyways its not complete yet (still have some minor tweaks to do) but this should be usable and still have the look and feel of aggiefans. Anyways let me know what you guys think. (that have a newer smartphone). I re-enabled the autoredirect to select the new theme so it should detect when you browse to aggiefans with a pocket browser. But its on the "Aggiefans (2007) Mobile" if you need to select it manually.

Also on a related note I know there was some discussion about the horizontal/vertical ways of viewing the forums. I was able to figure out a pretty simple way to let us use both at the same time so I created a thinner theme that utilizes the newer thread layout. If you are interested in checking it out its the "Maroon (2007) Test" theme.

Sweet Jag. I'll check it out. I have a Palm Treo 700w.

does the 700w have a higher resolution screen than 320x240? Reason I ask is the new theme is designed at 320 pixels wide so it should render nicely at anything higher but it would be nice to confirm. you cant test these things too easily w/o having 50 or 6 different cell phones.

I have been posting from my blackjack, but it isn't that easy to navigate the site.

Actually, the Treo is only 240x240.

ahh... then it might not look so great. i designed this for 320 pixels wide.

are you sure you are using the new theme... and you might not be because once you login it might remember your existing theme and not redirect you to the new one? and if you are what specifically is hard about it?

I keep my Treo 700p in optomized mode when browsing webpages. It makes all of them the width of the screen. I only use it that way so I don't have to get the stylus out to navigate. When I switch it over to wide page mode the mobile 2007 theme looks good.

yeah i designed it to be viewable w/o having to enable that single col view.... namely because alot of people dont know about that mode or want to mess with it. And its kinda funny because it looks like crap in one col mode.

In fact most of the time I use the new posts option to view (and seriously thought about making that the default view but decided against it so it looks like the forums). but there are really only 2 views (new posts and the standard way)

Yeah it's rough in the single col view but it works good for me. I need to check out the different web browsers for the Treo and see if there is something better than the default browser.
