Just turned it on. A little late becaus I went to bed late last night. First mountain stage! :gig:

Don't know the details but it appears Lance is in the peloton and they are 5 minutes behind with about 45 km to go. You would think he would have to attack today so I may be tuning in just in time.

The peloton looks freaking cool! It is totally single file down the descent, snake looking, and looks like it's half a mile long.

Peloton hitting the second big climb.

Peloton only like 3 minutes behind. Lance has 4 guys with him so far so they are in good shape to attack/defend.

People are dropping now. They have a bad case of the alps.

Valverde took the stage..... But Lance is back in yellow. He just blew the whole tour apart. Ulrich is over a minute behind.

sarge07

is that it for today!!!

CoolaidWade

is that it for today!!!

That's it... Tune it tomrow.... It will be just as good. I stand corrected: Ulrick is over 2 minutes behind and Basso is a minute behind. They are pretty just waiting for Lance to break. After watching today, I don't think that is going to happen.

Team Discovery Channel was awesome today. The led a blistering pace at the head of the peloton the whole way until Lance attacked. I said earlier when they abandonded him the other the day that I think it was a tactic. I tend to believe they were faking after today.

Lance just wanted to give the frenchies hope by giving up the yellow jersey for a day, and then kill it, making the defeat all the worse

I am one of the few who does not like Lance Armstrong. He has done great things for cancer research and I totally respect that, but other than that, I can't stand the guy. I am friends with 5 or 6 people that have either worked with him or trained with him and every one of them says that he is the biggest ******* they have ever met. He also cheated on his wife after she stood by him during his cancer. That alone makes me dislike him.

He is the best athlete, cancer or no cancer, to ever get on a bike. There is no arguement there. But as a person, he is an *******. I can't wait for this race to be over with so I don't have to see or hear about him anymore.

Go ahead, flame away! :)

There is no denying that he is arrogant and an ******* but it's just because he is a competitor. His line of business is cuthroat.... He is in a foreign country and constantly under attack whether on the bike or on the sidelines.

How do you want him to be? He adopted to be a competitor in every aspect in his life and I respect him for it.

And as a person.... He set up probably one of the more respected and well know cancer not-for-profits in http://www.laf.org That is not too shabby.

I guess I have too much respect for him since I can deal with him being an *******.

EDIT: As for his wife.... There has been rumors that she hasen't been the most faithful as well. But all that is speculation on both sides. You can't really count that.

Lance being an arrogant ******* only makes it better that he's the American with cancer who dominates the French sport that Americans couldn't care less about.

Unless someone admits to cheating on a spouse, it is always going to be pure speculation. So take all of that with a grain of salt. And as far as him being an ******* to the people who trained with him, there could be a lot more to that story. Why were they training with him? Did he invite them? I doubt it. And in his mind, these are just some guys trying to be cool & train with him, but really all they are doing is holding him back. Nice guys finish last!!! Get out of Lance's way, scrubs. He has a 7th straight Tour to win. I consider myself a fairly nice person. I don't want the people that I work with or do business with to think of me as a nice person. I hope they all think I'm an ******* because thats better business for me.

I know your track record P-ville & you hate successful athletes. Tiger, MJ, Lance, the list goes on & on. Anyone can find a reason to dislike someone if that is what they want to do, & you are very good at finding reasons to hate these type of guys. The best & most frequent being, "He is too good." Thats crazy, hating someone because they are too good, but that would explain your hatred for Lance.

Next thing you know, P-ville will accuse Lance of doping. ;)

Doping...he is from Austin! ;)

True, I never liked MJ, but was never sure of the reason. The only thing I can attribute it to is that he was too good. The things he could do are/were amazing, but I actually got tired of watching him dominate everyone all the time. Seeing the Bulls win by 20pts every night was boring to me. As for Tiger, I changed my opinion of him after I met him at Fort Bragg last year when he was doing the military training that his dad went through. He was very down to earth and funny as hell. Maybe if I met MJ or Lance, I would change my mind about them too.

I'm glad that an American continuously dominates the French in their own sport. But, I will be very glad once this is all over and I don't have to hear about Lance anymore. Maybe its b/c I live in Austin and have to hear on the news everyday just how great a guy he is. Is he a great athlete...yes. Has he done great things for cancer research...yes. Is he a great person...no.

Thats my point, you don't know if he is a great person or not, just like I don't know. Basically, what you are saying is, "In my opinion, which is based on the opinions on 4-6 other people who have met Lance once, he is an ******* & that makes him a bad person." Which is fine. I just choose to let what he has given money wise to a group that really needs it, what he has said/done in articles I have read about him, and the fact that he completely dominates a bunch of Euros while going through the most rigorous drug testing allowable by law outweigh what 4-6 people have said about him. Therefore, in my opinion, the good outweighs the bad & I wish Lance would win 10 Tours in a row.

I never said what he has done and accomplished is not great and amazing. I have never met him, but personally knowing people who have that now can't stand the guy based on the way he treated them, I will keep my poor opinion of him.

Pflugerville has reasons he feels that way, so be it. I see him win and i think he's great, same with Jordan. However many people he played with thought Jordan was a Jackass. Sometimes it's just the perception of some people, sometimes it's true. Message Boards are places to say what you feel. :gig:

Lance in yellow with a 38 (or so) second overall lead after Stage 12. I just tuned in to the end of the race because of work but I think they lost a team member due to a crash. If so someone will have to step up which may be a big deal. I'm not sure yet what happened.

Back to Lance being arrogant when they interviewed him at the end and asked, "This is your last alpine stage as a professional cyclist. Any feelings? Any nostaligia?"

And Lance said, "Too be honest I didn't think of it all. I have to be honest It wasen't in my mind one bit" Then that cocky smile and he left. I love that guy.
