After thinking next year through, I don't think we'll be in that bad a shape.

---------------------

Leaving(Bolds = Vital)
Acie Law - Guard
Brian Blackburn - Guard
Beau Muhlbach - Guard
Marlon Pompey - Utility (Natural Forward)
Antanas Kavaliauskas - Center/Forward

Incoming(Bolds = Early playtime)
DeAndre Jordan - Center
Victor Dubovitskiy - Forward
B.J. Holmes - Gaurd
Derrek Lewis - Gaurd
Nathan Walkup - Forward

---------------------

Starting roster (Current):
Joseph Jones - F
Antanas Kavaliauskas - F
Josh Carter - SG
Dominique Kirk - SG
Acie Law - PG

Starting roster (Next year - Predicted):
Joseph Jones - F
DeAndre Jordan/Bryan Davis - F/C
Josh Carter - SG
Dominique Kirk - SG
Donald Sloan - PG

---------------------

As you can see, We lose Acie Law and AK which are two solid starters. Acie is the best PG in the NCAA. BUT, if you've watched the recent games, Donald Sloan is taking quite a big role in contributing to our games. He's averaging 13 minutes a game, but almost 6 points. Tonight, if you saw him play, he played more than that and played a huge role in the success we had against OKSt. I believe Sloan will step in next year and play better than Acie did in his earlier years and build himself up to be either just as good, or better than Acie is now. Carter has a very bright future as he is now driving the lane and being the second best 3pt shot in the country. Kirk is possibly the best defender in the nation and is a very good shot beyond the arch also. Jones will be a vital part of the team next year because of his experience and leadership. If he can stay out of foul troubles, expect him to be a HUGE part of our offence and defence. Incoming DeAndre Jordan is a top 10 recruit in the nation. He should be able to come in and contribute right away from the bench, if not start. If he does come off the bench, expect Bryan Davis to start. Davis has shown flashes of being a force under the hoop. He's been slowly worked into playing late in games.

Then there is BG. BG is the man for College Station. He's turned this program around in 2 years and I doubt a fall anytime soon. Acie will be missed, along with AK, but we've got young, athletic, superstars in the waiting. So after this season is over, hopefully with a national championship, don't be too worried about next year. We'll be all good. ;)

Donald Sloan has went from a kid to a man in the last few weeks. Its been great to watch his maturization process this season.

Donald Sloan is gonna be a great PG for us for the next 3 years after Acie moves on to the NBA. I think he's going to get a lot of minutes the rest of the way and into the NCAA tournament.

I've said all along that when Sloan is finished, he will be better than Acie.

i think it will be key to have jordan starting next year as a true center. that way jj can be a true power forward and be able to do more things away from the paint. he is a good shooter and can contribute without being under the basket all game long. i think this will help jj stay out of foul trouble as well.

Sloan is the man. I was amazed watching him play last night. I don't fear losing Acie as much as I did knowing that Sloan will step into his spot.

before you go talking about these guys staying for the next three years, you have to realize that with our talent on the rise we're gonna start losing guys to the NBA.

Yeah but their not one-and-dones or two-and-dones like Durant. We'll probably get some good years of of them.

It depends on the player. Maybe another year to hit the weight room. Maybe another year of experience. Maybe another year to impress the scouts and increase your draft stock.

i think some of them would be 1,2 and dones if they were at a school that had a history of creating NBA stars... which is where we're headed
