How did this gem go unposted?

What a ride we're on in men's and women's basketball. Our men won at Kansas on Saturday and followed it two days later by soundly defeating our friends who came over from the state capital.
Made me want to sing out, “Watermelon, watermelon…,” but maybe some other time. Down in the athletic training room the other day, our trainer for football, David Weir, made an astute observation. He pointed out that sometimes you have 'team' wins and sometimes you have 'program' wins

And people really e-mailed him to complain about our recruiting?
I've heard from a few of you about our football recruiting. Let's wait a couple of seasons to see who the hitters are. My experience of 30 years is that a lot of really high-ranked prospects don't pan out. Sure, many do. But there are a lot more not highly-rated who turn out to be some of the best team players and produce big winners.
What really matters ultimately is winning. If our football coaches are satisfied that they brought in student-athletes who will help us win championships, I support them. I enjoy stopping by to talk to our head coaches in football, basketball, every sport really, about their recruiting. After all, it is the lifeblood of our programs.
Grow up people! Let the kids play some college football before you complain about how bad they are. :stupid:

Say what you want about Byrne, but our programs are all headed in the right direction since he came to A&M.

The only thing you really need to say to people like that is that we had less scholarships to work with.
