As on all signing days, surprises may happen, and one of those could turn out to be Santa Monica (CA) Community College defensive tackle Mike Abana (http://tamu.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=60757). Abana visited A&M a few weeks ago, and despite an early commit to Washington State it is expected for Abana to make a decision between A&M and Kansas State.

I just use em for info... not for ratings... I don't even care about stars or rankings.... I am more interested in a players height, weight, 40 time, video clips, where they are from, & if they fill a need for the Ags...

And I use Rivals for their articles... their rankings suck, but they do put up good stories from time to time..

I don't either.... as much..... But to get him when at the begining of the process he wasn't even looking at A&M, could be a plus...

Added depth at DT could be huge for A&M....

Could/should allow the Coaches to focus on other positions come 2008 a little bit more than they would have.

Tarp can't predict anything.... Like I said.. Rivals is only good for interviews (articles) and stats... aside from that... eh.... it's more gray than black & white.

i am not necessarily one that knows all of the ins and outs of these kids we have signed, but i will say i like what we got, based on the size and speed of these players. it looks like we got some speed threats at WR and got a lot of potential for the defense with the size and speed of the players who can play db. i think we addressed some needs with this class and see a few of the players who will potentially see a lot of playing time next season. with a lot of the players, they are versitile and can play a lot of different positions, which is good for our 4-2-5 defense.

I think that we hit on some very key areas of need but also missed on a lot of positions that we needed. I would be a lot more disappointed in this class if the '08 class wasn't off to such a great start. We missed on some big time O-line & DBs in the '07 class, but we are raking in at those two positions in the '08 class.

I like this class... some schools when limited will focus on a few positions, but A&M still tried to cover each position possible.... Which keeps the pipeline going....

ESPN just gave us mad props for our recruiting class. Basically said that the sips better watch out. That we have been steadily closing the talent gap on them & we already beat them last year, etc. I'll take any positive pub we can get.
