I agree for the most part with the author. I wouldn't specifically say that oil is "unlimited". I would however say that it's not scarce.
And we continue to go through these times of rising oil prices -- only to have everybody freak out about oil. It's ridiculous...basic economic theory says as $$ per barrel increase (as a result of low oil inventories), production of oil is going to increase (because even the most expensive oil wells will be profitable) and all oil drillers/producers will be trying to put out oil to profit off of higher prices. As productivity increases, the supply increases, and as supply increases, $$ per barrel goes down. It's just a cycle. It happens all the time.
