http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g39/tstevens06/acie.jpgLast night the Aggies got to show the rest of the country that they were a legitimate top 10 team in the country by manhandling the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The first half was mostly the Antanas Kavaliauskas (http://www.aggieathletics.com/bios.php?SID=MBB&PID=7690&YOS=2007) show as he came to life and exposed the OSU post defense. AK was forced to leave the game twice once with a bloodied nose and the second with a groin injury. But Coach Gillispie, who is never pleased with anything less than perfection, said that AK has got to be tougher and get more rebounds to help round out his game. The first half ended with a 38-28 Aggie lead but the Cowboys came out hot in the second half and cut the lead to 3 points. It was then that the Aggie defense decided enough was enough and held the Cowboys to only one more field goal for the entire game. And finished the game strong for a 67-49 final and swung to the top of the league standing.
Reed Arena set another crowd record with 13,187 in attendance to watch the showdown of top 15 teams. It was also the earliest sellout ever in school history and 4200 student tickets were sold in less than 2 hours.
