My Holiday Bowl videos

Here are some clips that I took from the Holiday Bowl. The first one is the pregame stuff. It is 10 minutes long and includes the Navy Seal Parachute team, the National anthem, and the flyover of four FA-18 fighter jets from Miramar.

The 2nd video is 7 minutes long and is the Aggie band's awesome performance at halftime. It also includes the beginning of the Cal band's performace b/c they start out performing a Queen song. I left it in there b/c I thought it was ironic and appropriate for their fans! Sorry the beginning of this video is jumpy. I was trying to get my digital camera out while filming with the video camera.

Actually, I think legend has it that one time about twenty years ago we got pzowed at halftime once. I forgot what school it was.

So actually the thing to say, "We have never lost at halftime except for one time." Which is still pretty good, don't you think? :spy:

Actually that drill looked pretty tame for the holiday bowl.... whats up with the no 4 way cross. That should be a staple each and every year (for the last couple of games).

in addition, when was the last time the football team lost a half-time? did one of the cal football players run through the Aggie locker room at halftime yelling "I win BITCH! I win!" ? or am i missing something?

i'm pretty sure the football team doesn't actually play during halftime you tard, so just take your b.s. elsewhere.

...was thinking the same thing...
reminds me of the band kids in HS that thought they were cool b/c they played AT games...not in them...

doesn't inherently mean you are a dork b/c you're in the band...just don't try to associate that w/ being a football player. People do not go to games to see the band. period.

That said, we do have a kickass band.

1981 at Rice stadium. The student body of rice, or those attending were blowing whistles, which totally screwed the band up. They stopped mid drill and marched. Later that game a Ross Volunteer in the band kicked the sheot out of some rice student who grabbed his cord. The president of TAMU Frank Vandiver directed the mob that halftime. Really pissed off the entire university when he did that.

However...... I attended A&M for 6.5 years, was a season ticket holder for another 4 or 5 after that not to mention have seen games before and after that time period. So what is that..... In excess of a 100 times I have seen them play?

I'm at the point now where it's all about the football game. If I'm going to multiple games/year I'll see the band once, maybe twice but after that, it's a 20 minute rush to use the restroom, stock up on nachos and drinks, or whatever I need to do because I don't want to do any of that during game time.

If that makes me a 2%er so be it, and I'll paint in on my chest during the football game. I would rather call it, "having paid my dues." and now just want to watch some football. (And this involves many other traditions as well)

6.5 years, Christ, I hope you got a masters in that time. I put myself thru school and it only took me 5.

I had to deal with Notre Dame's band last night and their prancing dooshness. It only reminded me how great the FTAB really is.

My wife (a non-ag) said, "damn I wish the Aggie Band was hear and who are those guys in the kilts and what is their purpose?"
