This is who we have next year at WR..... Speed is going to be key for A&M....

Obviously... Taylor won't burn anyone... at least not the way his brother used to, but his ability as a run blocker & his hands will be why he starts... Who Do ya'll think will start in the 1 or 2 other WR's spots depending on our formation....

We need Speed at WR.... Franks, Kerry (http://www.aggieathletics.com/bios.php?SID=MFB&PID=7388&YOS=2006) is fast, but he needs to be more consistent & I hope McCoy, Terrence (http://www.aggieathletics.com/bios.php?SID=MFB&PID=7860&YOS=2006)gets some playing time... I hope he is as fast as advertised... at 6'4, he could be a nice combination of Size & Speed...

Going into the Off-Season... this is our NEW biggest area of concern..... At no point this season were our WR's a threat.... and not since T-Murph have we had a WR that could really do something for A&M.... And not since Jamaar Taylor have we had anyone who had the combination of Speed & Hands.

Juco transfer Michael Corey?? Never heard of him but looks interesting at 6'4" and 209...any speed?

Well if Corey & T. McCoy can both pan out, 2 WR's at 6'4 would be nice... Hopefully similar to what OU & NU has in their WR'ing corps....

If you can't burn them, out jump them....

But hopefully we can do both next season... Personally.. I won't hype up our WR's until they show us something....

They have the talent, but they need to produce....

Anybody else see the potential we have in EJ Shankle...I don't know about yall, but I really think he could be a burner next year for us out on the edge. We still need much much more of speed though

Not really... he was used sparingly & I really couldn't get a feel on him... He didn't beat anyone to the edge, but he did make a guy miss on his 1st touch.....

I feel if we are going to run the spread offense then we need speed WR's but also we need to run passing plays that go deep like Mizzou, Utah, Purdue,West Viginia, and Florida. I would like to see us run a combo of Mizzou's and Florida's offense with a little pro style package and keep the option package with it. Cal's offense is a pro style with a little spread thrown in but not much. McGee here in Burnet ran the Spread for 3 years and it was like Mizzou's offense. Even when his freshman year when Coach Abernathy was head coach running the Wishbone Flex offense he still let McGee go 4 and 5 wide sets to throw the ball downfield. Until we get some Big time Wr's with speed then we will have trouble running the spread and Coach Fran needs to add more passing routes to his play calling to help off set the running game. I see only the McCoy brothers, Franks, Kenny Brown, Shankle, And Beyer that have the speed to become big time but we still need 4.4 or lower type WR's for this offense.

Also I guess Holland and Trice have the speed it takes to play Wr in the spread but we need for them to ready to go when they get here. Also Morrow Needs to get healthy and Flip Perry is suppose to be a 4.3/4.2 guy but he never saw the field this year. Fran needs to add some more passing plays to his scheme next year. Take a mix of Mizzou, Florida, Cal, and old school option footbal package.

I think the system we have now is fine... We just need more athletic & faster WR's.... I love the effort all of our WR's gave this year... but through no fault of their own... there is only so much they could do with the God given ability they had....

We need faster (NFL quality) guys at WR....

Frans also needs to add new passing plays to the offense.

I agree... in those plays I would like to see more crossing routes... Football is a copy cat game & crossing routes from what I have seen have ruled the Bowl Season...

Most of our routes were Posts, Flags, Hooks, Curls & a quick slant.. but nothing long across the middle....
