Itunes question

What is the best way to back up all my ratings and playlist and play counts???

oh, windows media player...I absolutly hate all older versions of wmp. It was too slow, always jacking up a perfectly good computer. Hard to believe that I should switch from itunes which I am quite fond of.

what don't you like about itunes hollis? I love it's simplicity, wmp has always been a buggy program.

if you used it you would realize how much further wmp has come from 10 to 11. The biggest thing wmp11 does that itunes doesnt is actually use your album art in all views. And its about 2x as fast scrolling through my musicas itunes is now (which is actually quite sluggish on windows)

That said the one flaw in wmp11 is it still doesnt handle podcasting natively through the application (which is a stupid thing for them to do but ive heard they are going to be adding that support soon)

Not all my music doesn't have album art so it looks like **** in wmp.

apparently you havent seen either of the two newer versions of itunes...it includes album art...which is cool, but most of mine don't have it either

it includes it but its an afterthought at best in itunes. most of the views dont use album art where all views in wmp do. like i said you dont realize how good it is until you have used both.

I am not sure if it is possible to just back up the ratings and play counts but I can check with engineering if it is super important. I would check right now but all those guys are off this week out in Cupertino. I thought the play count is associated with the music tag file but when I went to put on a different computer it did move the count along with it. You can back up your playlists by simply highlighting the playlist and exporting it in the file menu. The kicker is you can only do one playlist at at time which is a pain. To bring them back in you just import the text file.

I use Musicmatch Jukebox. I haven't really tried anything else. Ever since the original (free) Napster was shut down, I haven't really liked any of the players.
