Aggie Tennis Lands All-American, Top Junior Player (http://aggieathletics.com/pressRelease.php?PRID=10029)
Sarah Foster, an All-American and former standout on the University of Kentucky women’s tennis team, has transferred to Texas A&M and will begin playing for the Aggies in the fall, A&M women’s tennis coach Bobby Kleinecke announced.
Alessandra Jordan, one of the top junior tennis players in the country, also has signed to play for the Aggies.
“I’m extremely excited to have both Sarah and Ale join our program,” Kleinecke said. “It’s not every day you have the opportunity to have an All-American transfer into your program and also be able to add one of the top juniors in a nation. With Sarah’s two years of collegiate experience with one of the top-ranked programs in the country and Ale’s national and international experience, they will definitely help bolster the top of our lineup in both singles and doubles.”
Foster, who will be a junior, earned All-American honors in doubles this past season as she and partner Aibika Kalsarierva earned a No. 9-16 seed at the NCAA Doubles Championships after leading Kentucky to its first Southeastern Conference regular-season title. The pair fell in the Round of 32 but garnered a No. 9 final ranking as the Wildcats finished the year ranked No. 4 in the nation
