The Pac 10 is now, year after year, having its non-USC #2 team being dragged into playing a HB game that is not "sexy" for that team. Quite literally, the Sun Bowl is more "sexy" for the Pac 10 than the HB.
b/c el paso is a lot more sexy than san diego:huh:

That's okay...I don't know what it says when your conference consistently loses to the "scraps" of the Big XII. What's that record...9-2 for the Big XII vs Pac-10 in the Holiday Bowl?

There is no integrity in journalism any more.
That writer is obviously from Seattle.

It was last year and the year before, but I don't know that it has been year-after-year that the pac-10 number two team gets screwed into the holiday bowl.
The problem with the holiday bowl and a lot of second tier bowls like it is that every year they're going to be stuck with at least one team that lost a game late and went from BCS to that bowl. And those teams are never going to be happy.
More than anything, teams in that situation probably just want a change in scenery. Which is why I'd be thrilled if we got a gator bowl bid. No, it's not BCS, but it's florida and I don't get that way often.

We're obviously happy to be going and Cal accepted right away so I think this year it's a positive experience for everyone.

I don't think Cal is happy about it. They had nowhere else to go.

that is not the case with the pac-10 this year. cal is the number two team and they are 8-3.

Cali's just trying to piss on our parade.
What happens if you guys don't get the Gator?

Alamo Bowl. Cheaper to get to, probably easier to win. I'll enjoy whatever bowl game we get to. It's a dissappointment after two years in the Rose Bowl, but I have the satisfaction of seeing both personally, so I'm not going to get real choked up about it.
And I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade. Hell, the RB two years ago Michigan didn't want to play us and that didn't bother me. If we got to the gator bowl, WVU would probably not be too happy about being there either.
It's not saying anything about you guys or the bowl itself. It's a problem that the BCS has created.

If y'all go to the Gator, it would be instead of WVU rather than with. I think Clemson will be the ACC representative.

I don't think anyone will be as disappointed as your seniors.

Why? They won a national championship last year. How much better can you do?
I'm sure they'd rather play in a bigger bowl game, who wouldn't? But they at least got the chance to "be there." Cal hasn't.

It's ironic that they (Cal) didn't get a chance to be there (The Rose Bowl) because of the pitching of Mack Brown.
The system does indeed suck.

True, but one of the Battle Cries that FSN, ESPN & pretty much anyone who covered tu this year said that tu wanted to prove they could do it without Vince Young..... I think not being able to win games that Vince otherwise would have probably bailed them out in, could leave a sour taste in their mouth..

Not because they didn't deserve it....
