Our policy has always been to only talk about injuries that are season-ending. With that, we have sad news. About the time this message is going up on the Web site, defensive tackle Red Bryant is undergoing knee surgery and he will not play in our last two games.

For a while Red and all of us had hopes that he could make it through the season, and he gave it a valiant try in the Oklahoma game when he played almost 30 downs. But for long-term recovery in getting ready for his senior year, it was better to go ahead and repair the torn ligament now.

But you can count on this: Red will remain a strong part of our team spirit in the locker room as we finish the season. ..

That sucks. I didn't realize that his knee was hurt. It was always just speculated as a calf injury. That is a big blow. We needed him for the t.u. game.

The other DT's & NT's need to be mentally ready.... They can not afford to make mental mistakes & must be stay true to their assignments...

Here's to a speedy recovery for Red & a kick @$$ senior year!!!!!!

Maybe we can slide Jack to a tackle spot along with Heard at the other tackle spot and have Harrington and Mike Bennett at the end spots. Also I would like to see maybe Featherston come in on pass downs as a defensive end.

I still have Red blocking the field goal against OSU as my wallpaper. He's the man!

Wow... so now we shouldn't believe in our players either....

Damn SA... 1st Fran & now we can't even think positive about Heard too.... What did he do? Was he wearing a ring you don't like? What?

Damn..... You get pissed/bring down everything Maroon & White this season.

Didn't he give up playing football for poetry. Was the best outside linebacker in the state of Texas coming out of high school and Rivals top 250 player in the nation.

Yeah he preferred the world of books to that of touchdowns/tackles.

Hope Red gets back quickly and strongly.
