Wow, that sucks. Its even more sad that he died the day before one of the biggest games in Michigan's history. Not that they needed any extra motivation, this might be it.

I saw that he had collapsed earlier today and it wasn't looking good. How sad for his family and the Michigan program at this time of year. I hope they find comfort in the accomplishments of his life and the measure of respect he was so rightfully paid.

you should have included that little bit of info...from the way you posted it, looked kind of jackassy...

still isn't in very good taste, but your post makes more sense now.

He'd had a bunch of heart attacks. Amazing that he continued to live so long after his first, which I want to say was back in the 70s.

Interesting looking back on his bio. He was never able to win the big one. In his mind all that mattered was winning the Big 10 and the Rose Bowl.

And he's a legend today.

Says a lot about where college football is now and maybe why a guy like Lloyd Carr is one of the guys against a playoff. You play your schedule, you try to win your conference, then the bowl game, and if you win a national championship in the process, that's icing on the cake. Not many people view it that way any more, which is sad, because it turns largely successful seasons into disappointments for a lot of team.
