I agree with 2 choices honestly... I can't vote on this poll... I could care less if I get harassed about it.....
I agree with
I think he's made steps in the positive direction and deserves 1 more season
& I agree with
I'll just agree with whatever Byrne does.

dangit I can't edit the poll... there is a "multiple options" option but I didn't check it... I say go with what you feel strongest with.

I'd say another season. There's been progress both on the field and w/ recruiting. But yeah, I also push the agree w/ Byrne if it were possible to click on 2 choices.

I thought about that... but I feel equally strong about both....
I have always said 5 years is the measuring stick for every coach at every school including ours....
But regardless of how I feel, BB has the final say so I also agree with whatever he does. If he makes that change this year, next, or the year after next.....

It won't let you change it from single choice to multiple choice after you create it.

Well, it would be screwing all the people who already voted in the single choice poll.
If you really wanted it multiple choice all the votes would have to be reset to 0.

Interesting that the majority of the people who voted want to give Fran another year, yet the majority of the Aggie football related threads on this board for the last two weeks say that he should be fired.

Probably, because many like myself want to wait 1 more year, before we go ahead and say keep him period....

And here is my Cliff's Notes explaination of my answer:
I voted for keep him one more year. I am by no means happy with what has transpired in the past three years of the Fran era and I am in no means calling for a contract extension for Fran, but when I look at this season we just seem SO CLOSE. We are three plays away from being undefreated and having a really special season. Because of that, I would like to see one more year under Fran to see if we are heading in the right direction or not. If not, go ahead and can him. But first lets just BTHO tu.

I'm kind of torn actually between 1 & 2. I want him gone, but you can't deny the record improvement. Setting the record aside for moment though, our kids are GREAT!!! Our D is much better than last year, and I feel that ina lot of ways we are making strides in the "right direction" for the most part.
I'm convinced we would be 10-1 (taking the tt loss) with a different HC for the ou and nu games. How do I know that? I see coaches making the decisions to WIN ball games every week and that's something that we lack.
Do "I" feel Fran needs or deserves one more year?
HELL NO!
Will he be back? Probably, for the make it or break it year.
My prediction: We bring him back, lose a few road games because of the brutal schedule we are going to have, and Fran will be lucky to make it to the tu game in CS.
I just pray to God that Fran pulls his head out of his a$$ in the off season and people tell him where improvements need to be made. Sometimes we can be so close to the action that we are actually blinded by what we "can't" see. I really hope that that is what has happened here with Fran.
I'm really suprised Fran hasn't gotten reamed yet by the regents or asst coaches.

At 2 mil., 8-3 record, lots of returning starters for next year, lots of experience for next year, hell just let him try one more time.
Pumchavas28
11-16-2006, 10:42 PM
Assuming BB keeps him one more year... which he will probably will....
21+ 5+7 = 33 people are expecting Fran for a minimum of 1 more year.
While only 11 want him gone now..... So I am just guessing basing this on this unofficial poll that what the majority of us have been saying, is in fact true...
The MINORITY is the loudest......

There needs to be an option that says:
5. I could care less who the coach is, I am just sick and tired of losing to the likes of tt, tu, OU, and whatever steps we need to take to start winning should happen asap.
AustinAG07
11-17-2006, 02:54 AM
And maybe this option:
6. I have an opinion about Fran, but for the love of God can we just give this discussion a rest for a while? We are about to play tu! Lets talk about that and focus on Fran when there are no more games left to play.
