I thought the last one was funny... also if you notice it is the older classes that are fed up and a 2010 that is backing Dennis.

Once again, the minority yells the loudest! To read an "Aggie" say that he booed shows me how far our University has fallen. I hope these guys are denied season tickets & membership into the 12th Man Foundation when we start winning consistently. I know it won't happen, but it would be justified.

So some juniors and seniors don't like Fran. I hope Byrne reads that and fires him immediately then b/c they obviously know what is best for the program.

I'm just the messenger here guys. But it's obvious the fish are still fresh off their brainwashing this summer.

This is the one that will speak loudest of all the ones posted. Bill Byrne is the one that would make any kind of final decision, his focus is money, and this is the only one that said anything about funding. Of course, until/unless funding goes down, there is really no incentive for Byrne to do anything anyway.
With all the money that is pumped into the program, with all the newly renovated facilities, with all the talent that is supposedly recruited, with all the grandstanding of Aggies proclaiming how great the school and team is, and with every 12th Man Foundation donation that is required before you get to pay an egregious amount of money for a football ticket (not to mention travel and hotel costs just to attend a home game), it is about time we expect a return on our investment and hold those responsible for the most visible part of the University accountable. There are no excuses. A loss is a loss whether it is by 1 point or 74 points. No matter which way you spin it, it is still a loss and altogether very unsatisfying. It doesn't matter if the team played hard and was one defended pass, one first down, or one penalty away from winning, because in the end a loss and an eventual fourth place finish in the Big 12 South is an embarrassment and doesn't give you any satisfaction when you drop at least $300 to attend a game or are talking football with your friends who attended other schools that recently won national championships. The football team is the most visible part of the University and the biggest source of pride among Aggies. Therefore, I find it very difficult not to support those at recent games that voiced their frustration in a product which by all nationally accepted measures of a team's success is continually deemed to be sub par.

Yeah, well, the idiots that booed probably just cost us a higher bowl bid. Reportedly, there were quite a few Bowl Selection Committees in attendance on Sat. The Holiday Bowl was turned off by the booing because they associate it with lack of support for the team which would mean decreased ticket sales for the bowl game. Way to go all of you 2% jackasses!

Well, evidently they were....the student side was full of Aggies for the game. You saw what happens when the 2%ers don't go last year against tu--30% of that side is burnt orange. They were there and did exactly what they always do--act very UnAggie!

A 2%er is not going to pay $85 for a ticket.

I think they're disgruntled "fans"... Would you pay $300 for a time machine so that you could go back in time, and then when it didn't work just say "well it tried really really hard."

Its not $85 if you're a student, & daddy is usually paying for it anyway. They don't go because they enjoy football, they go because it is the thing to do.

If it was just the thing to do then why would they care enough to realize what is going on on the field? And don't lump everyone in with being taken care of by daddy.

Lets get something straight...I don't spread rumors on boards. I speak fact. Look back at my tract history. You believe what you want to believe, but I'm done with your antics. I'm doing something I should've done a long time ago. Congrats on being the only person on my ignore list, chump!

Learn the definition, bra! 2% is how much of your heart & soul you put into A&M. Hence the phrase, "2% is too much!" when I speaking about someone like yourself.

We should have a recall vote on the student government ballot. It's not just a few, or a "minority" as Dustin calls it, that dislike Fran's performance. I'd bet that more than 90% of the student body is not satisfied with Fran.
And for the record: I'll never boo at an Aggie game. Ever. That is a 2%er thing to do.

Good call, & :rep: for it.
On the other hand, it doesn't matter what students think when it comes to the head coach. You don't believe me? Stop coming to games & filling up your side of the stadium & see what Byrne does. He will either fire the coach to get students there, or he will start selling off student tickets to more season ticket holders. You feel lucky? You know how much we could get for those lovely 2nd deck 50 yard line seats that y'all have been pulling all year.
The donors matter & as long as they see the big picture the coach will stay & you as the students will remain in the minority. And you will keep complaining to no avail, unless your goal is to piss people like me, Pum, & Macduff off.

Well, I won't be a student next year anyway. Maybe with more season tickets, there will be cheaper deals. Not necessarily a bad thing for me.;)
But seriously, I think the students will be there regardless. The boo-birds will go to the games if for no reason to make a point.

Wouldn't he have to sell out the zone before selling student tickets?

Nope....make the student side another alumni side, and push the students to the top of the zone.

A great way to fix that is to lower prices. We pay $85 to see A&M play OU or Texas, but Georgia fans only pay $35 for SEC games. Maybe that's why the SEC teams sell out all their games.

This is the same argument we had about basketball. You want the facilities improved! You want ribbon boards! You want a video board! But you don't want to pay more for tickets.
And as far as selling tickets goes:
1.) We had 2 of the Top 10 all-time crowds in Kyle Field history this year.
2.) They would be able to sell season tickets to those on the student side, regardless of overall attendence because of the demand for high quality seats. There are many Aggies sitting on the 25 yard line on 2nd deck that would pay a more money to move to 50 yard line 2nd deck on the east side of the Stadium. They would be sitting on the 50 on the west side now if they were available. The west side sells out. The Zone Club sells out. The only seats left unsold are top of the Zone & student seats. Top of the Zone don't sell because they are crappy seats. Students don't sell for a number of reasons....but I have no doubt that BB would take them away in a heartbeat if he felt he could get away with it. And if the students don't start filling that side, his chances of getting away with it continue to increase.

Name one game this year where the student side was empty but the zone was full
