This game comes down to this plain & simple....
This was not a complete game by our Aggies... From top to bottom....
In the 1st half our Offense was ON & Fran trusted them, the Defense was OFF which game ou 14 points that unfotunatly were legit....
In the 2nd half our Offense was OFF & Fran couldn't trust them like he did in the 1st half, the Defense was ON played their best 1/2 of football this season holding OU to only 3 points... and those 3 points came when OU needed only 6 yards to score a TD, but the Defense held em....
No one has held OU to that low of a scoring 1/2 this season...

They didn't score at all in the second half against us.

Actually, those 14 points weren't legit. The Thompson TD clearly wasn't a TD. Not saying that we would've stopped 'em on the next play, but he didn't get in on that play.

That was a horrible TD call. He was about half a foot away.
But you guys got some help on your TD drive, too. I was happy to see the personal foul call on the celebration, but that is NEVER called. And the hit out of bounds was kind of weak.

Yeah I know... I saw that one.... I was pissed about that call also....

While I'm gald that those calls went our way, I agree I've never seen them call a personal foul on that type of celebration. Possibly because he was standing over the player?
I agree on the "hit" out of bounds. Most of the Aggies around me thought it was a weak call too. It was really more of a push.

On the replay you could see him on his back and then roll over to get the ball in the endzone.

That plus maybe the severity of it. But I've seen players do that week to week many times and it's never been called. He was directing his celebration at the guy.

Pum is again one of the few who is maintaining some degree of sanity in all this!

That was the general concensus of the fans around me. He could have done what he did but standing over the guy was what got him the penalty.

I've seen that before too, though. Bullitt did it in your game against Kansas. I'm no fan of it, but it's not a taunt.

Dude I was pissed in the 1st quarter at LB's for being out of position, I was mad at some of Fran's calls when we were at mid-field not in the red-zone, & I was mad at McGee a few times also...
It's a team effort & I understand it is not Fran vs OU, or our Offense vs OU, or our Defense vs OU... it's all 3 parts vs OU & all 3 deserve equal praise & equal blame.....
Nit picking bad calls do what? Really....
I mean if you really want to bash folks, why not bash the defense for allowing the 1st 14 points... I mean if they were able to shut down OU for 2 & 1/2 quarters why not the 1st quarter & 1/2..... seriously...
There is a reason Football is the ultimate TEAM GAME..... I can find something to praise & bash everyone on the team after last night... but some folks are doing enough bashing on certain parts of the team I just want folks to realize that it's not all on just one part...

I think that what it was is this...normally, when you see a player standing over a guy on the ground like that, that is where he ended up after making the hit. In this case, the OU played was beside Bennett, not over him, after the hit, then he made a point to straddle Bennett while he was on the ground, thus earning the penalty.
A small difference, I know, but that was my take on it.

I don't understand how they review Thompson's TD and uphold it though. There was enough video evidence to overturn it.

They had to make up for that horrible call in Oregon somehow.

Kyle, I agree. He stood up to the side of Bennett and then jumped over and straddled him. It didn't seem a deliberate 'in your face' type thing (unless he said something the ref flagged him for) -- but the ref obviously thought it was.
What it all comes down too....
The first game Pum goes to this year and the Aggies lose. I'm just sayin'....

Lol..... I was thinking when I was walking back to North Side that I should have sat my happy ass down in front of AggieFans.com & had the game on the TV at the same time & we would have won.... lol....:p
But then I wouldn't have known what the 12th Man is capable of & now, the only thing I love more than the 12th Man is my family.....:gig:

I think the penalty was mostly because he wasnt over him after the hit, then jumped over him and celebrated, i agree that it wasnt that bad, but maybe if he had already been over him then it wound have been called.

What it comes down to is that our school is a laughing stalk. A guy here at work and an o.u. alum could not beleive that Coach Con didn't go for it on the 2 yrd line.
No wonder the media doesn't take us seriously.
I wanted to believe, but nolonger believe in coach Con.
