Exercises in futility are their thing, maybe?

This is our team for the season. No amount of bitching from the bleachers will change that.

Gig 'em.

Burnet..I agreed with you on another thread that we should have run the ball. That is what was working, but like others have said at some point the players have to execute. I said in another thread that I believe that running J-Lane would have been a better play call, not the right one. If McGee throws the ball to Joey and completes that TD, we are all singing Frans praises.

I would live with us losing running the ball to lane on 3 and 2 of if he dosn't get in if we run it again on fourth down. You lead the big 12 in red zone scoring and have the best goaline back who leads the nation and big 12 in scoring. The odds say run it not throw it. Like I said if we didn't get in then I would of been ok with that along with about 86,000 other people.

I hope that wasn't aimed at me. My issues with Fran are no secret, but my dedication to this team can't be questioned either.

Fans like me, greg, and Burnet love this team and these players. We really believe that what's best for Aggie Football is not what's best for Dennis Frnachione. You don't have to agree.

People who question our loyalty to the Aggies and call us 2%ers are definitely on the "extreme."

I have not and will not ever disrespect any Aggie ever. I love each and ever one of ya'll like a brother. We are a brotherhood and we all share a bond for this great university. My post are not aimed at anyone, I'm just writing about what I saw last night.

We're all frustrated, Burnet, but we have to allow the team to work through this. If next weekend looks much the same, there will be a great many people sending a lot of e-mails and making some calls.

This is one of those situations where patience is all we have and it's not easy, but let's wait and see what changes are made. The only ones who can address the problems are those on the team.

I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that things will improve. If they don't, we'll go from there.

Yoga anyone?

Screw the nay-sayers......

I don't care who I offend.... But ya know what.. I guess I understand how there is so many of ya'll....

I have to say I was disgusted by some of the Aggies around me.... Getting up during the game & doing crap... at one time it was 3rd & 5 with OU having the ball & folks were going to the restroom or to get something to eat...

WTF!!!!!!!!!

I had to take a piss in the 2nd quarter & I didn't go until after the game at a port-a-poty over on West Campus.....

Seriously.... I don't give a shyt what kind of seasons we have had... I know folks get frustrated, hell so do I.. but damn... WTF.....

I would wave my damn towel & look around & I swear I wish I was in the damn student section... that was the only group of people that matched me yell for yell & towel wave for towel wave....

Here's a question gregh.... What do you have to say about the situation Fran's players put him in? With the way the O'Line had performed would you have put the game in their hands? Seriously I am curious... did you watch how much our O'LIne struggled?

So I guess you would want to call McGee stupid also right? He wanted to win the game but his decisions during the passing game didn't help any....

So I guess the O'LIne is stupid, since they wanted to win the game & couldn't pass protect at all last night...

So I guess the Defense is stupid for giving up 1 inch... they wanted to win the game but couldn't hold for one more 1nch.

Ok Fran knows the team, the coaches, and the players better than anyone on this board. He also know what they are capable of and what OU's tendancies are. His offense WAS NOT delivering as they had the rest of the season. He did what he thought best and in the end we came up one inch short. I could understand calling for his job if we were blown out. We lost by 1 point against byfar the best team we have played... i thin the best team we will play...

Exactly.....

It is obvious that I was expecting a higher scoring game because I honestly believed it but watching OU stop as often as they did surprised me... I didn't expect to punt more than 2 times... HONESTLY... but we did & that was because lack of execution from out players... Execution that had seem to be taken care of the last 4 games...

I know execution is a coaches job, but damn... When your players show you they have it down packed after 4 weeks, you would think you shouldn't have to hold their hand all the damn time...

If you look at other posts that I've made, you'll see that I have consistently praised our players. I'm sorry if you feel like they were the let-down. The team I saw played with passion and wanted to make things happen with the stupid plays that were called.

Have you logged in some flight time, sat in the simulator, or just visited the Johnson Space Center?

Dude... I don't mind if you criticize the coach, but it's not only his fault....

You can't deny the fact that players made mistakes also..... I put blame on Coaches & Players, but I am just making it so people see the whole PICTURE, instead of just near-sighted views from people who are quick on the trigger to put the blame ONLY on Fran.

November Echo
11-05-2006, 08:24 PM
Players do make mistakes and that is expected and usually acceptable. I don't remember seeing any blatant player "brain fart" mistakes.

Coaches get criticized for making questionable calls. I don't blame ONLY Fran, but MY opinion is that Fran is not a good fit, nor is he the best coach for our program. Nothing personal.

I agree.... but I still want to win these next 2 games... I don't want to settle for a bowl game... that's a step back after a good 2/3 of the season......

I still believe we will beat nu..... and I see a win over tu also... the only problem with beating tu is that by that time I believe they will have the South locked up & already be on their way to the Big 12 Chip...

So a win over tu will help us get to a better bowl game, but wont deviate tu from getting to a possible BCS game.

This is the most inane post ever.

BurnetAg...you and I are almost always on the same page, but I think McGee bears the blame for this one....He's my guy...I think he's the best I have seen since Bucky as far as leadership and moxie...but he missed more open reads yesterday than I have seen in a long time...I DVR'd the game and watched it tonight...Herbstreit and Davie were at odds on what should have been called at the goal line...it all boils down to...we make it and it's one of the best wins in recent history and if we dont, we lose by 1 and all MO is GONE!

Me...I would have run Lane twice....All those guys on the field know a LOT more than me about coaching football!

AustinAG07
11-05-2006, 10:11 PM
This is my first post since the game and here are my thoughts:
GET OFF FRAN'S BACK! He made some questionable calls, but that does not ruin all the progress we have made this season. We lost by 1 point to a very good team. OU is much improved since the start of the season. We are a good team ourselves and still have a chance to make this a special season.

What about the great adjustments our defense made? It looked like we were going to be destroyed at the start of the game.

What about how our team kept its composure after a costly interception by McGee that could have burried us?

Both of those show that Fran and this team have taken huge steps forward this season.

There are positives to take out of this game. And some of you are going to say "I don't accept losing." or "No moral victories." That is just ignorant. True, we shouldn't be happy about the result of the game, but there is a differene between being upset about a loss and jumping off a cliff. This was not a game that should get a coach fired. If you weren't calling for Frans game on Friday, I dont think you should be this Sunday. If you thought we were going to go undefeated this season you do not know very much about college football.
