The number one team in the big 12 north (Nebraska) was soundly defeated by the last place team in the big 12 south. And, if the aggies win this game saturday then Nebraska's record vs. big 12 south teams is 0-3....
please tell me how they deserve to be in a Big 12 Championship game over other teams in the big 12 who have better records and have defeated them (same for mizzou)...

So what are you saying? Is this an argument for re-aligning the conference? Or you saying if Nebraska out-coaches us then that is just even more embarassing?

Has the Big 12 Championship game ever actually been necessary to decide the Big 12 Champion?
Heck, both of our teams have conf. championships we wouldn't otherwise have because of it, but that's no reason to keep it.

well that will never happen. That is too much of a cash cow for the conference. The best way is to have the north get better. If that won't or can't happen then you need to start trading teams from North to South.
I guarentee we won't see the end of the Championship game any time soon no matter how much Stoops cries about it. (I just said Stoops since he has been vocal about it)

The CCG can be suprising. I have no reason to object with an extra college football game.

it will never happen but i would much prefer the two best teams in the big 12 to play the title game.

Agreed. Why not take away the divisions and have open scheduleing, and have the teams with the best record play for the champ?

All I was saying is that (like Army AGG said) the big 12 championship should contain the two best teams of the big 12.

Confrence Championships should be back up plans for all conferences when a Clear #1 is not available..... by Clear #1 I mean 2 teams with the same record who did not play each other....
Otherwise get rid of them..

I'd like to see the CCG disappear and add a 9th conference game instead. However, I think that the money is too good for the Big 12 to pass up on.

wait a second...are you saying that the money for one game is greater than the money for 6 games?

If I'm not mistaken you can only play 12 regular season games. So if we were to add another conference game then we would have to drop a non-conf. game. But I guess if we keep playing a weak non-conf. schedule that wouldnt be too bad.
The CCG is considered a post-season game.
