Because they are so bad. Calling a big program like A&M or Tennessee "on the rise" isn't a shock to anyone, and won't receive any attention. When you talk about BU beating the likes of A&M and OU, you're "on the edge" and get more attention paid to your articles.

Again... I love how that loss to Army is getting no publicity this week, yet it's brought up AT LEAST once a week that A&M barely won that game...

Every week (while I don't like this philosophy) writers across America always use the Common Opponent Comparison & this issue has yet to be brought to light...

And if you bring it up to Baylor Fans, WHICH I HAVE DONE on 4 seperate times this week, they always blame it on a NEW OFFENSE.... that is until of course I bring up the fact that we had a NEW DEFENSE, that was put to the ARMY test 1 week earlier... THAT's 1 WEEK LESS OF preperation for ARMY & we had not game film of Army vs a 4-2-5, which Baylor did if they watched us play them, seeing how we both run the same Defense to an extent.....

After I mention that, Baylor fans seem to get pretty quiet.... probably why the media doesn't bring it to light...

I wonder if Baylor has realized that the teams they have beat have a combined record of 8-16...... While the last 2 teams we have played have more wins 11 than the 3 D-1A teams they have beat..... wow.....

They get more hype for beating 1 D-1AA school & 3 teams whose combined record can't compare to the last 2 teams we have beat......

I also love how every time they have played a team with a WINNING record.... they have lost....

TCU 4-2..... Baylor Lost
Washington State 5-3..... Baylor Lost
Texas 7-1..... Baylor Lost
Army is the only team with A LOSING record they lost too.....

Seriously..... I know it's Baylor vs A&M and how you play 1 team does not equate how you play another... but what have they done this year, that seriously would give sports writers the ability to hype these guys up.... I just don't get it....

I want to make an example of them this year. Put them back in their place as the bottom dweller of the conference. I do not want Fran to hold back like he did at the end of the Mizzou game.....I want to score another 73 on those jokers....What gives them reasons to think they can even be in teh same breath as A&M or tu....did Jesus give them a memo I missed or something

One day I think we're going to kill them and then another.......well, I've never felt we'd lose, but just don't like my stomach turning like that....

One thing I do notice in the scores above is that Baylor has been improving on offense against better teams. They've scored in the 30's each of the last 3 weeks, all games against Big 12 opponents and two of those were on the road. That's really why I leaned in my pick this week to a higher score.

I think we could kill BU if they don't get more than 17-20 because I think we're scoring at least 28.

What will that make us if we do beat them? To the victor goes the spoils, I guess. Problem is - there's nothing they have that I would really want :)

I don't think they will be a bottom dweller for the forseeable future, but they will be in the mediocre middle and will be a thorn in our side like the tards are.

I don't even see that...... To do that, they have to to win consistently against Big 12 South teams, which they have yet to do......

Star rankings aside.... when you start seeing things like this..... it doesn't exactly sound like your a program on the rise....

But I love how they say the 2008 list is looking strong when they only have 1 guy on their list... 2 if you count the other guy below...... Geez....

http://tamu.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=599653

The recent Baylor de-commitment of Beaumont Westbrook athlete Billy Chavis (http://tamu.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=42272) has apparently rubbed off on his teammate, Jacody Coleman (http://tamu.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=49709), who also committed to the Bears some time ago. Coleman, who is now getting more interest as a linebacker, has added an offer from Iowa and will visit the Hawkeyes on Dec. 1 and Missouri on Dec. 15. The 2008 class though is looking strong with the Bears sitting on one commitment from a junior and sitting well with the likes of Lexington, Texas standout defender Andrew Wolridge (http://tamu.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=56621) who already holds an offer from the Bears.

So much for that great revelation above (30 points from the Bears the last three games) -- I was just watching a replay of the ASC and noticed that Will Johnson had already said something about that 6 hours earlier on TV..

I didn't see the show live - really, I didn't :)

I understand it completely. A&M is 7-1; however, A&M SHOULD be 7-1 or better at this point on a regular basis. The last few years have us blinded into thinking that us being 7-1 is extraordinary when really it is what we have all expected for years now. The Bears however, are generally not 3-1 in the Big 12. In fact, I don't know that they have ever been 3-anything in the Big 12. That alone gives them reason to be hyped up. They will come into this game hyped because they have already achieved what they never have. There is no pressure on them at all. Everything from now on that they may win is pure gravy. We on the other hand are supposed to win. We are more talented and have better facilities. There is no story in us winning (except to us).

I'm not at all sold on the stat of them scoring 30pts or more the last three games. You have to look at the details and not just the score.

In their game against CU, they only scored 17 pts in regulation and another 17 in OT.

In their game against Texas, they scored 21pts in the 2nd half after Mack took his foot off the gas and started playing his backups and a conservative defense.

In the game against Kansas, they had to score 3 TDs in the last 9 minutes to win after Kansas gave up and thought they couldn't lose.

I would agree with every thing you said exept your last sentence....

I think there is a story about us winning..... Especially with our November schedule coming up..... It would be an awesome way to build up A&M for a November run were we could very well go 2-1 or even 3-0 in November.....

Coming off a 5-6 season & having a shot at going 11-1 in regular season play the very next season... that is huge.... It's not like were in the Big East or the Pac 10... this is the Big 12 where we have 4 teams Ranked in the Top 25... despite youth, our QB's are dominating almost every Top 25 QB listing.. from Rivals to CBS, to Fox, to ESPN.....

For A&M to be doing all this with a VERY, VERY young group on both Offense & Defense.... I mean c'mon... there is a story there...

But then again, even though I might not agree with that last sentence.... you could be right... it might be a story to only us.....

If it is & we keep winning I can't wait to serve a HUGE plate of crow to everyone who keeps doubting us.

You are correct, we have never been 3-1 in Big XII play, in fact we have never been 3 and anything in Big XII play. Yes, this is exciting. I am recruiting members for the Bandwagon... now is your chance to hop on Ags. Remember, win or lose this weekend, Texas first!

Remember guys, we have not won anything this season yet. The games we have won, WE WERE SUPPOSED TO WIN. The Tech game was always going to up in the air. I think BU will be tough partly because we could be looking past them to OU. No matter what happens, November will define who this team really is for 2006. If we go 0-3 then 8-4 is not that great because we went 4-4 in conference (I am assuming a BU win, which may not be prudent). 4-4 in conference play will not get you too many places. I honestly expect A&M to at least win 1 of those games in November but I really think we could win at least 2. I would hope one of those wins is against tu but I will take whatever 2 wins in November we can get.

After that debacle two years ago, there is no way we are looking past Baylor. The guys have said it all season, & more importantly, shown it, "We are looking to next Saturday's game. And thats it."

This game scares the hell out of me! I definitely think we will win, but it still scares the hell out of me. We don't view Baylor the same as they view us, from their standpoint a victory against the Aggies in essence validates their season, in effect we are their superbowl! Perhaps because of the schools close proximity, really I don't know but for some reason they circle this game, and they get up for it, that is a fact. When we lost to them two years ago, I thought they was no way that could be repeated, I thought last year things would return back to normal, no way the players would forget, but we got lucky last year, in fact Fran had to be talked into going for it on 4th down. I see alot of...."we own them"...."it's only Baylor"......"put them in there place"....truth be told, I think we ought to just keep quiet and let them play the game, hell anything can happen on any given Saturday.

Logically looking at this game, I take some comfort in the fact that they struggle to stop the run which is perhaps our strongest attribute. There offense is very similar to tech's and I thought Darnell adjusted extremely well in the 2nd half of the tech game, so maybe we can sort of "start out where we left off". I have confidence, but I will still admit that this make me nervous.

They sort of said this last year, and well you know what happened, I'll just leave it at that.:) Pinche you are correct in one regard, what the team is "showing" this year is much different that what they showed last year. This will be a tough game.

The difference last year was that they (our players) wanted that game so badly. They had Baylor circled on their calendars. They wanted so badly to blow them out & tried too hard & almost ended up losing the game. This team looks at every game the exact same--another chance to increase that number in the win column by one. Doesn't matter if its by one point or 100 points, as long as that number in the win column continues to climb.

HelloAg Fans. Before today's game I thought I would checkout the message boards. While the smakc talk from both sides is kind of childish, I would like to straighten some things...

1.) College Football is ALWAYS better when you guys are good. I say the same thing about Texas, OU, Michigan, etc. It makes for a better season.

2.) I hate your traditions and you hate ours. Big surprise.

3.) Please stop calling us Ambercrombie Bible Freaks who can't dance. Only 10% of the population is that way. I know. I went there. Just like I know that only 10% of Aggies drive maroon trucks with shaved heads and "squeeze" their nuts during a close ball game. I don't stereotype and hope you wouldn't either.

3.) Baylor football has sucked, and I mean sucked to the worst degree. No one is arguing that. Saying that over and over again proves nothing. However, you will admit that the possiblity of a team going to a bowl game for the first time in 10 years is a story. Now, compared to A&M we still suck. But, I hope to maybe someday compete with you guys, year in and year out.

4.) Go over and read some comments on the texas boards about how nice the Nebraska fans were last weekend. They got beat but bought rounds of drinks for Horns fans because they respected their competition and respect the game. They would say, "I sure hated losing to you guys, but you sure did play a hell of a game."

I hope we can all get to that level someday.

I hope for a great game today and if you guys win, then best of luck. That Javorskie Lane is an animal.

i think the majority of Aggies and Aggie fans are considerate of other schools' fans and most of the opposing fans who don't realize that are the ones who have never been to a game at Kyle Field and soaked up the gameday experience in College Station.

i would be willing to bet that the majority of fans talking smack on these message boards (threats, cursing, etc.) spend most of their days behind a computer.

i have been to a ton of games at Kyle Field and can't count how many times we have tailgated with fans from visiting schools, before and after games. i have very rarely ever seen anything other than kindess and hospitality towards opposing schools' fans at Kyle Field.

re: traditions. i don't hate any school's traditions and i couldn't imagine why another school would hate ours, but each is entitled his/her opinion.

remember also, that the attitudes and comments of those on these message boards don't necessarily represent the majority of Aggie and bu students/fans.

That being said, welcome to the board and here's to a good win today and an Aggie victory.

BEAT THE HELL OUTTA bu!! WHOOP!!

We all know how easy it is to be a keyboard badass, but you have to admit that the exponential level of hypocrisy coming from the Baylor students is really hard to let go without comment.

As for your traditions vs. ours, I always find such statements amusing and revealing from non-Ags. I hadn't a clue that Baylor had any traditions and I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to find out.
