allowed to have handicapped parking spots? This has always bugged me. There is a woman that works for my largest customer that I always see when I am at their factory. I do not know the woman personally, but have spoken to her a few times. She seems nice. I'd say that she weighs at least 400lbs, maybe more. She cannot walk up or down any stairs and is weezing and out of breath after walking a few feet. I used to feel kinda sorry for her until I saw her eating lunch one day and she had not one, but TWO bacon ultimate cheeseburgers from Jack in the Box. She was double fisting them and washing them down with french fries. Once I saw that, I no longer felt bad for her b/c regardless of any health issue that she might have, she should not be eating 200 grams of fat and 3000 calories for lunch.
So, why does this person get to have a handicapped parking spot b/c they are overweight?

That's always bugged me too...I've gained a little weight since college started, but it's because I've been eating too much crap and not working out. It's all my fault. I know what to do to fix it.

maybe its glandular (sp)?
though i highly doubt that... i agree though. why should they have special priviledges for the own doing... you can keep yourself from getting that big.. i mean, she may never be below 200 if she eats healthy and works out, but still at least you can live a normal life

same reason they have drive through Krispy Kremes Stores. so those fat people don't have to get out of the car and walk into the store to get some donuts.

You would think making them park like the rest of us would be benificial to them so they could get even a little bit of exercise....
Because for some reason being fat is considered a disability.

Unless there is a medical reason other than stuffing your face.... I say it's being lazy......

If it's medical though shouldn't they be able to fix it?

I think ugly people should be able to park in handicap places so we don't have to see them as much...get in. get out...go home.

Lipo suction, stomach staple, etc. There are ways to fix it, but people would rather be lazy and fat for some reason. For people that are as big as the lady I am talking about, I believe her insurance would cover at least part of it b/c it is essentially a matter of life or death.
I guess I was thinking more if it was a glandular problem. Regulate it with medication.

I love the fat people that say you only live once so eat what you want. This wouldn't be a problem if eating what they wanted didn't cause them massive health problems that inhibit simple everyday tasks, essentially making their "one life" shorter and worse.

Many people who have the parking tags becuase they are obese actually do have medical problems that cause or complicated their obesity. Its not as easy as so me of you make it seem to lose weight. There are a lot things you can't possibly know about being morbidly obese, including the pychological issues. I'm not making excuses, but its true. I lost nearly 100 lbs 2 years ago and that was on my 10th or 11th serious try. I've since gained back most of it and I've had a really hard time getting back on track to losing the weight again.

but what do you eat? do you pound down two hamburgers at a time from mcdonalds? do you spend 20-25 minutes walking a day? Those aren't medical problems, those are bad habits...
Now, I can see where someone could have serious problems medically, but if you do this on top of those medical problems, you have no excuse

I don't pound down two hamburgers at a time or think a large bag of doritos and a 2 liter of coke is a light snack (though I have a friend who does). But if I eat at Sonic twice a week and take my fiance out to dinner on weekends, after a few months it adds up. Plus, since I'm a software engineer, im sendintary and don't get as much excercise as I should.
