I went over to read the article on the Goodson post and found this one as well...

Don't you have to be a little bit concerned with a coach that can only pump up his team with black hats and six-guns and big talk and rhetoric...I mean, is that all that they have to hold on to?

Also, Cali (loosely quoted) said something about their "rivalry" with us due to the fact that we are the team with "some" clout that they could hang with on the field.

I think that has some credibility, along with the fact that the schools are so close in proximity and share a bit of history, with the Ag's going up there and dating the BU hotties, etc. You think they are still bitter about that?? Morriss probably has a picture of the old train on the B Board.

Anyway, there is some similarity between Leach(little brother complex, analogy laden, drunk) and Morriss(maybe been hit too many times on the Line, Analogy Laden). They both perpetuate the RIVAL position to pump up their players to try to eak out a victory. In the article, they mention beating us 35-34 in OT being their revenge for our thumping them 73-10 the previous year...REVENGE?

Maybe both of these programs would turn the corner if they'd concentrate on playing everybody like their "rival"....Fortunately, I dont think either of these coaches are savvy enough to pull it off....

Well Baylor hasn't exactly had a stellar record in the past 10 years. Last bowl game in 1995. Last Jan 1 bowl game was 1981. It's no secret they have been kicked around the Big 12. When your at the bottom anything you can use to get your team motivated your going to give it a shot.

Analogies are for the weak minded...

The fan base sure reflects their coach's nasty attitude which is a very weak base to build a program on especially for a private religious school. I find it pretty sad and hopefully short-lived for their sake.

I think 90Ag has it down pretty good.

Baylor wants some cred in the Big XII and is desperate to get out of it's rightful place in the South cellar. But it is unreasonable to expect such a turnaround to happen overnight, so instead of shooting for t.u. right out of the gate, they pick a team they feel they can close the gap on easiest. A&M's weak performance in the conference the last few years put us on their radar screen.

You have to laugh at the comments on the Baylor boards about the Aggie's "penis envy" of t.u.. Baylor and Morriss have made the last three years basically all about beating A&M, "closing the gap" between them and A&M (it's all about the gap, you know), etc. It's what they perceive as their first step in getting Big XII cred...and they have a ways to go.

As for comparisons between Leach and Morriss, Leach can (usually) walk the walk, and has a brain to back upmost of what he says.....so far Morriss has yet to deliver any of the Big XII prominence he claims for the Bears, and appears to be a Leach wanna-be. With tceh still struggling for consistent respect and cred with a pretty decent record, how does Morriss expect Baylor to get any? They've done NOTHING against anyone that counts. And although saturday will be a tough game for A&M, I expect to be able to say the same afterwards.

I'd be willing to be bet that there will be more Ags at the game than bear backers so it will feel more like a home game than the game in Stillwater and the guys will be comfortable and do quite well, putting Baylor in its place and making some people eat their words.

Their will be a few more bear fans than aggie fans at the start of the game, but if we get a decent lead on them, they will all head home like they did last week.

Considering what happened last weekend, I'm guessing many won't, hoping that lightning will strike twice. That will mean there are just more depressed Bear fans to snicker at while walking back to my car.
