I'm working all day Friday and will be leaving around 10 or 11 on Saturday. I want to have enough time to eat at George's.

A simple trip from College Station to Waco requires this much discussion?

You guys need to get out more.

I've been to Waco, once. I drove there from Dallas. Considering that this will be the first time for several of us to make this drive from CS, I think he asked a reasonable question.

CS is about an hour to an hour and a half from Waco.

I drive Temple to College Station every Saturday. That drive takes about an hour and a half. Add another 40 minutes to get to Waco and you're looking at about a 2 hour - 2 hour 15 minute trip.

Leave around 2 or so....get there at 4:15-4:30 and you'll be okay.

Wha!? 2 hours to Waco?

Seriously go north on Hwy 6. Hit Waco in about 1 hr to 1.5hrs. That's it couldn't be easier.

Exactly. Its 90 miles from CS to Waco! I used to drive it every Monday morning for two years. Don't know what the construction is like on 6 around Marlin anymore, but it shouldn't be too bad. Don't speed through Calvert & Reisel & you should be good to go.

The construction around Marlin is done. The real problem is they are building another set of lanes between Waco and CS so that the entire way will be four lane divided highway. Some parts are built and some parts aren't. The construction backup isn't that bad. I might leave a little early just to beat the rush but I wouldn't plan on it taking more than 1.5 hours.

True...I forgot you can drive straight to Waco. I was thinking you'd go to Temple, than north to Waco on I-35. My bad....(don't go that way). :)

I just have to go Temple to Waco -- about 40 minutes. :gig:

That's cool.:gig: If you don't go that way it's not fresh in your mind.:)

Although more people would drive to Temple if you have a place to crash.:D

One word of advice for the drive: DO NOT SPEED! YOU WILL GET A TICKET! Pretty much all of those tiny towns between College Station and Waco make most of their money from pulling people over during A&M-BU weekend. It is amazing how many people you see pulled over.
