Got my weekly rag today. Read the College Football section first and they have a roundhouse article with 11 guys (Trev Alberts, Lee Corsco, and Terry Bowden are 3 of them) where they fire questions at them. Here is one:

Yeah, but who will play for the BCS title?

Dienhart (Sporting News Writer): "Ohio State and Texas. I like Texas a lot because its offense is rounding into shape to complement a defense that's among the best in the nation. Plus, it has no competition in the Big 12"

Oh, man I want to beat those guys so bad this year.... Just to shut up these hundreds of sportswriters and have them eat crow. That is going to be so the best part of the whole deal! :gig:

No competition? Do they not realize how close they came to losing on Saturday?

Well the article was probably written late last week. The Sporting News is pretty fast for a weekly magazine but it's still written press so they will always be behind. Although we had already beaten Mizzou.

Here is another blurb written about us.

"For all the heat embattled Texas A&M coach Dennis F. has taken- and most has been deserved- his team is one fluke play from an unbeaten season. The Aggies-who should have lost to Army and Kansas-are staring at a crucial two-game road stretch against Big 12 lightweights OSU and Gaylor. If they stave off the lower level of the Soutn Divison (A&M has lost to both under Fran) the Aggies will be set up for winnable back-to-back home home games against OU and Nebraska, which would sent them into the season finale-at Texas-with a spot in the championship game on the line. Even if A&M loses to Texas, schools don't fire coaches with 10 wins"

Somewhat contradictory?

looking ahead? wouldn't competition existing in the Big 12 happen each week? including this weekend's game in which Texas A&M plays bu?

Way too much has to happen for Texas to play in the BCS title. They would have to jump 5 teams and I don't see that happening. Plus, I think a few teams jump them, regardless if they keep winning once they play OSU, Tech, and K-State. Their SOS will go down as other's go up.

oh, i understood the conversation to be in the direction of competition that tu has, which would include all of the other teams in the Big 12 and how they have played as opposed to looking ahead to tu.

although i wouldn't imagine that too many people are already looking ahead to tu with games against bu, ou, and nu before that game.
