Another poll...

Spurs all the way...raised in San Antonio - got to work at the NBA finals when they played New Jersey. Worked for NBA entertainment and the halftime show...met Lisa Marie Presley - very short, not good looking at all (worse in person)...and got to hang out backstage with George Gervin and Wilt Chamberlain.

Pretty good deal...but to answer the question.

I root for the Spurs.

i'm a huge fan of the Houston Rockets. Been a fan all of my life and for some reason I have always disliked the San Antonio Spurs. I like some of their players such as Manu but I would like them more if they played elsewhere. My dislike for the spurs is like a respectful dislike in a rival where as I can't stand the LA Lakers. Even back when they were the Showtime Lakers I didn't like them. i think the only lakers I have ever liked was Byron Scott, Robert Horry (ex rocket) and Shaq.

Yeah, it was always weird seeing Robert Horry as a Laker. I kinda wanted to root for him, but the hate of the lakers was too strong.

I too hate the Lakers, but I especially hate Shaq. I just have always seen him as a big thug...kind of bumps people around.

Horry looked better in a Spurs uniform ;)

By the way, the other team I root for is New Orleans (i've pulled for them since expansion day in Charlotte). Kind of funny now they're near the bottom of the league.

I haven't watched the NBA regular season with any regularitiy since Jordan left the Bulls.

But i do root for the rockets to win. And i will watch the playoffs when they make it. That said if they don't win i won't watch till the finals.

College Basketball is so much better

Someone once told me, "College sports are for the scholar, professional sports are for the layman"

I don't know if I agree with that completely, but it fits most people I know.

Still miss the days of old with "Grandmama" Larry Johnson, 'Zo, Mugsy Bogues, Kendal Gill and J.R. Reid. That was a good team. :D

Rockets all the way.

I was raised at the Summit. I even saw game 1 of the 1994 Finals against the Knicks in person.

If you think Aggie kids were brainwashed, you should see Houstonians. I remember in elementary school, we actually had arguments as to whether Michael Jordan was better than Hakeem Olajuwon, with the consensus being "no."

I also remember hating OJ Simpson, because his Bronco chase cut into one of the 1994 NBA Finals games.

Mavs Fan for Life. I too hate the Lakers but have a much bigger hatred for the Kings. Good luck to the Rockets and thats enough said. Hope the Spurs shut down the Nuggets got tired of hearing about them and good luck to the Spurs the rest of the playoffs.
