Found this link via hornfans. Looks like Buckman was cut from his team in Greece after failing a drug test. He claims it was an antidepressent. I guess was was depressed after his performances against JJ.

If in fact it was an anti-depressant, it's real classy of you guys to laugh.

Buckman's a good kid. People get depression for all sorts of reasons.

I'm glad you think it's funny.

You'd think if he were on medication, he'd at least tell the team physician. Yeah... sorry. I don't buy it.

I don't think for one second that it really was an antidepressant. Like Big John said, if he was on a prescription like that, then the team would have known about it.

And I also don't think Buckman is a good kid either. He is an over rated, cry baby basketball player.

I wouldn't. It's personal and he probaby thought it wouldn't show up.

I like how you guys that don't know him hate him on such a personal level. I suppose it makes you feel better about yourselves, I don't know. It's weird--I've never hated anyone in maroon nearly a 1/4 as much in all my life.

To each his own.

Buckman is actually a great guy (as the parents of his deceased best friend would attest). But keep on hatin'

Oh, what do you know about him personally that lets you say that?

I mean, from what I know about you here, I could say you're not a really good person.

But I wouldn't say it until I knew you personally. Which I don't want to do.

Cali, not to point out the obvious, but a lot of my friends parents would say I'm a great guy. A lot of your friends parents would say you're a great guy. That doesn't do much to prove your point. (I'm not implying either of us are not great guys).

The difference is that these folks say that because after their son died, Buckman stepped up like a son to them. And they love him like their own son.

It's actually a good story but I'm not going to waste it on haters.

If his life sucks so bad he's burning with this kind of hatred over a guy just for going to "tu" then he's got bigger problems than can be solved here.

You hate Bennett just because he wears maroon.

You rip him all the freakin time on bofz saying things like
stupidity x arrogance=tellocity

He seriously is a great guy and not arrogant.

After we beat ya'll in basketball he didn't celebrate, he went to save this kid from being trampled, he carried the kid to the stands and helped find his parents. The guy will talk to or give an autograph to anybody. You don't know him, but yet you rip him, why, i'll tell you, he's an Aggie.

Also, for Buckman, Bennett and anyone else some good does not mean all good. Palmerio was universally thought to be a stand up guy, but he did roids. Kobe was thought to be a good guy for a while. There are nice guys who screw up all the time.

You honestly need to hold yourself to the same standards you set

Oh come. That was funny.

I don't dislike him. I do dislike what he did on TV. But I'd dislike that no matter who he played for.

I remember reading that. I also remember giving hip props for it.

Over on the BOFZ we have something called a Bull**** forum. It is for precisely this kind of crap.

Luke Winn over on CNNSI.com has the latest on this--it was a prescription drug he's been taking for years for ADD.

He didn't tell the team, apparently because he didn't even think about it.

so you find this as justification for digging up a thread almost 1 month old? You need help.

It's the sip mentality of "Why do I need to tell anyone whats going on with me? If I get busted, I'll have an excuse"

Can we get over it... we dont know why he took it, if he took it or what it was for. If you are not a close personal friend we have no right to talk about it anyway. That goes for both sides. So he failed a drug test big deal. Should he have told the trainers he was taking it if it was prescribed. Yes but that is not the question the question is was he a good guy? We have no justification to judge him on that just because he failed on anit depressent drugs. If they found other harsh drugs I would be more inclined to say, "Hey maybe this guy wasnt so good after all" BUT I MIGHT BE WRONG!!!!

Cali - Lay off its for sake of argument now, your point has been spoken.

FELLOW AGS - LAY OFF TOO!!! Reason Im coming across stronger on this end is because we have no justification of judgment on the character of this man. And... Thats what an AG does! Look out for fellow AGS!....

There is my 2 cents and have a nice day :gig: GIG EM BTW

Yeah, actually, we do know why he took it. The name of the drug has been released. We also know it's something he had a prescription for since he was in junior high.

BigJohn just isn't man enough to admit he called a guy out for something he didn't do.

I didn't call him out. I just said I didn't buy his story. How stupid can you be to not tell the team physician that you are on medication. That's about as smart as a football player smoking weed for an anxiety order.

I don't buy it.

It's a prescription drug for an anxiety disorder that he's been dealing with for most his life. Odds are he knows more about it than the team physician.

When I was a kid playing sports my doctors told me that because I knew more about my asthma than any school nurse under no circumstances was I ever to leave my medicine under their control.

My guess is that this is sort of the same thing.

He's not trying to get away with anything, he's not using it as an excuse. He tested positive for this exact drug and nothing else. It doesn't make him a bad person, it doesn't make him stupid.

He's apparently willing to live with it. You can say the same thing for Greeks that are treating this as though he was on steroids.

Hopefully you'll find more sympathy in life when you make a mistake.

Just because you are on anti-depressants or other medication doesn't mean you automatically garner sympathy or special treatment. You say he's been on it since grade school. Seems to me like he's doing fine when he's on it. He made it through 4 (5?) years at college plus the added stress of playing D1 basketball. He's stupid for not telling the team physician that he was on the medication. He made a stupid decision and it got him fired. So what? Happens to most people sometime in life and this was his. No sympathy for me. Sorry.
