I love Johnny Cash. By the way, the scene where he walks from downtown Nashville to Hendersonville...that walk is like 30-something miles (depending on where he started from)...
Not sure if it's true or legend (I'm thinking more legend)...but that is one hell of a walk (up hills, etc).

Great movie! Even better acting. Both Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon were fantastic in this one! :gig: :gig:

Great movie. There was a lot I learned about Cash that I had no idea about (serious drug issues). Same goes for the movie Ray.

That is some what true, he went on a walk high as hell and went into a cave to die, but he said God spoke to him and told him to live.

It's amazing how God speaks to people when they are stoned out of their gourd.

I thought it was crazy how it was all Elvis' fault that Cash was on drugs to begin with. Remember, Elvis' first offered it to him. Wonder if that is true or not. I loved Walk The Line.

Great movie, I thought the acting was fantastic! Ray was a great movie as well, Pflug. By far my favorite part
".....Tell me you don't love me!"
"I don't love you!"
"LIAR!"

It was an awesome movie! Wish I would have been more into Cash's music when he was alive.

My father-in-law owns 79 Johnny Cash CDs. I have 5 & amazingly he doesn't own a single one the 5 that I own. If you get deeper into his music (past the few songs that made him so famous) you learn alot, not just about him, but also American history. The man was an absolute legend & I'm so glad they did such a good job on the movie.

Damn Dustin must be drunk, because how in hell do we agree in music
The thing that most amazed me about Johnny Cash was how long he as been in the business. How much he had seen it change over the years.

WTF, you are the one that said country music sucks? And I said a long time ago that I quit drinking (over a month now). We disagree on stuff like Ragweed, but thats only because you think they are horrible song writers. However, I feel that you think that way because you have only heard their old college type music (Carney Man, Boys from Oklahomo, etc.). If you listen to their last 3 CDs I think you would find that they had grown a lot as songwriters.

What's wrong with their old stuff. I like that!

Oh, I like it too. But Polish said he doesn't like them because they can't write songs. You would have to understand Polish & music to really grasp where I was coming from on that.
Ah. Can't write songs?!!? Has Polish listened to Boy's From Ok. or If I were President? That is some great Texas Country.
