Anyone else find it incredibly embarrassing that everyone watching ABC got to see the fish in the Corps squeezing their nuts on national television during the tech game? That video is circulating the internet like crazy. Its bad enough that we lost the game, but having that on TV makes A&M students look like a bunch of retards. That has to be one of the stupidest traditions that the Corps has.

I have read about "squeezing" a thousand times from horn message boards, but I had believed that that was something we quit doing 30 years ago. I couldn't believe that it was still done until that picture surfaced this week on every message board in America.

I was also of the impression that the only ones who still squeezed were the Yell Leaders during field goal tries and PATs.
It is embarrasing and needs to be officially discouraged by the Trigon.
Another thing us non-regs didn't have to worry about:
Being on national television holding your package.

i think the tv cameras should stay off the corps... they make a small percentage of the university however they are the face of the university and do stuff like this.

I was not in the Corps, but the way I understand it is that the Corps members squeeze their nuts as hard as they can during big parts of an Aggie game so that they can feel the pain that our players are going through.

I believe that our yell leaders do that during field goals and PAT's as well. That's what they are doing when they kneel down by the goal posts.

Found it. Corps block has only been around since 97:
"Corps Block seating was instituted by Hopgood back in 1997 to prevent Cadets from leaving march-ins and going to the games in civilian clothes. Despite the claims of it 'projecting a positive image of the Corps', it was just another way for the Commandant to micro-manage it."

That's the first time I saw that.. I missed have been taking a piss break because I don't remember seeing that in TV. But I'm glad I didn't. That has to be the gayest thing I have ever seen.
I totally respect the corp and all thier traditions but seriously..... WTF is wrong with you, guys? That is on freaking TV and everybody saw that. Including recruits. If you are a teenager not interested in the corps would you rather play in Austin where you worry about how many hot chicks you are going to tag on sixth street or here where you have to worry about your brother tagging you in the ass while you sleep.
This is not a bash.... It's a show some freaking common sense. And stop being so gay.

Before my time, but until 20 or 30 years ago, supposedly a large number of non-regs did this as well.
It's funny and a bit embarrassing, but doesn't really bother me all that much.
Heard some jacka$$ sip calling in to ESPN 790 sports radio here in Houston today. He was ragging on Gary Kubiak for not watching the two point conversion in the Texans game on Sunday. His basic comment was, "Since he's an Aggie I thought he would have watched and grabbed a part of his anatomy."

Definitely a tradition that needs to end. If you need to squeeze yourself to yell louder, then you're not doing a good job in the first place.

A strangely large number of those guys appeared to actually be doing this. There's one guy in the picture whose eyes are crossed he's squeezing so hard.

Squeeze Ags is as another poster presented it. It is done by the Student Body, not just the Corps so that the student body can feel the same pain that the football team does. It's done generally by the yell leaders. Unfortunately you non regs don't know all of the traditions. That's part of the indoctrination during FOW week. When I was a cadet in the early 80's we all sat amongst the student body.
You people like to point the fingers at the corps, but I'd like to ask you why has the current generation messed up the singing of the War Hymn and Yells like "Farmer's Fight"?
1. You don't whoop in the middle of the War Hymn.
2. It is a junior privelage to whoop.
3. It's "Farmers fight, Farmers fight"
not "farmers fiiiiiiiiiiggggghhhhhtttt, Farmers fiiiiiiiiigggggggghhhhhhtttt" which sounds totally gay.

Back in 1979 or 1980 Texas Monthly did a pictorial about the Corps, and it showed a picture of yell leaders and fish doing the Squeeze Aggies, and NOT one person complained. You people who think you are Aggies then attack the Corps because of there efforts to uphold traditions is disgraceful.
If it wasn't for the Corps, there would be no Silver Taps, Aggie Muster, Midnight Yell, Elephant Walk or the majority of the other great traditions of this school.

It is NOT done by the student body. If that was true, then why have all the non reg students on this board never even heard of it. I was a fish 10 years ago and didn't not know anything about this until earlier this year. It is a ridiculously queer tradition that needs to be stopped. You know Booze there are probably some Corps guys from the late 60's and early 70's that would look at all the stuff you consider to be right and proper for Aggies to do and think your screwing up all the stuff they used to do.
The point is there are some traditions that come and go. Other traditions like Muster, Silver Taps, et al will always be around. I don't think squeezing is one of those things that is going to have a lot of longevitiy.
In fact does anyone know when this "tradition" started?
